  1. Let Dave Tippet be head coach. He's got more experience. Hak can assist.
  2. The Blues/Avs game tonight is the NHL.TV Free Game today.
  3. Oh, you're talking about the grandkid Lou, not grandpa Lou. That's quite a difference. I assumed "the" Lou Nanne was stepping away from all things hockey, and that didn't make sense to me.
  4. I've been thinking about this since Friday. I'm totally OK with reviewing for offsides, but like you said, only if the goal was scored on a rush. I'd like to see a time limit set on how far back they can go to look for offsides. For example, if the puck entered the zone more than five or ten seconds prior to the goal being scored (which is a lot of time when you're talking about a line rush), and the linesman called it onside, then it shouldn't be allowed to be overturned. Obviously Hoff being two inches further too far forward on zone entry didn't affect the outcome of the play considering how much play went on between zone entry and goal score, but it cost us the game even though during the flow of game play the linesman said it was ok. I understand why they called it the way they did and I won't complain about it, because they called it by the rule book. But in the same way they changed the "crease violation" rule after the 2003 (I think) National Championship game, I think this rule needs to be looked at.
  5. Parallax has nothing to do with Hoff being over the line. The only way for him to have been not across the line but still appear across the line would be if his skate was lifted up. Still offsides.
  6. Enough for the refs apparently.
  7. Played at Michigan, I think
  8. 3:00 eastern. Noon pacific.
  9. Were they napping during intermission? They look really slow right now.
  10. Yup, North Dakota is "basically home", but the XCel Energy Center is always a neutral site. Solid logic there.
  11. As usual, an overtime lacrosse game right before something we all want to watch.
  12. My baby no. 2 is why I'm not going tomorrow. She was supposed to show up March 14th so I didn't buy tickets, but decided February 18th was a better time to be born. Plus I went to the high school tournament last weekend. I'll probably be at the game on Saturday, though, regardless of what time it is. Although an evening game would certainly be easier to go to.
  13. Refs don't know what they're doing, either.
  14. Well, the audio people still don't know what they're doing.
  15. I guess I didn't add that I didn't have to pay to send them. Target Center paid for the shipping costs. As for Timberwolves tickets, I wouldn't waste my time going to an NBA game, but something like a discount on my own Frozen Faceoff tickets would have been a nice consolation.
  16. I contacted Target Center and it turns out it was another person with the same name as me. They said they recently switched ticketing systems and in the process my account and his must have gotten merged together incorrectly. The strange thing is, instead of Target Center canceling the tickets I had and reissuing new ones, or having me send them back to Target Center, he actually had me send them directly to the guy who bought them. Unfortunately, it was a Hermantown, MN address, so likely a UMD fan. Oh well, he's the one who paid $525. He should get the tickets.
  17. I also just got Frozen Faceoff tickets in the mail. Four sets. The only thing is, I didn't buy them. I can't find a charge on any of my credit cards, but here they are with my name on them. Not only that, but they also had the wrong address on the FedEx envelope. It was a house number down the street so my neighbor brought them over. Has this happened to anybody else?
  18. You think the kids on the ice are the only ones who are part of the team? I guarantee you every one of the players would tell you otherwise.
  19. Maybe it was the WWE talk.
  20. So he's got the offer for an in-person meeting with the Department of Player Safety. What does that mean right now? Does he get to keep playing until he meets with them and they make their ruling? How does that all work?
  21. Yea, except the puck came out to center ice, and while Parise was still in the zone, on his way out to tag-up, the puck was passed back to Coyle and brought into the zone, with Parise still in the offensive zone. It was about as clear of an offsides as there can be. I don't know how they said it was inconclusive.
  22. That's exactly what I said to my wife after he scored the first one.
  23. No, Hockey Day Minnesota should have a game between a rotating schedule of Minnesota teams. Sometimes Gophers vs. somebody else. Sometimes Bulldogs vs. Huskies. Sometimes Beavers vs. Mavericks. It's not "Hockey Day Minneapolis", it's "Minnesota". The host the outdoor games all over the state, why shouldn't they recognize the other college teams, as well? And I can't imagine it would be too hard to coordinate to make sure it's a game involving two Minnesota teams.
  24. How is it that the TV clock is different from the arena clock by a full four seconds?
