  1. Neither the Vikings nor the Bears deserve to be in the playoffs. It's a pathetic division this year. I'm with you on this one. He starts sounding like a little girl almost any time Tech even gets in the offensive zone.
  2. Does the NCAA actually use the PWR now or is it still just rankings that mimic the method the committee uses?
  3. It's not the ref's job to make sure the teams get any momentum. It's their job to call what they deem to be a penalty.
  4. Did anybody else just lose audio?
  5. Yes it is.
  6. So what time does this game start? The schedule and website say it starts 5:35 CST, but the audio doesn't start until 6:30.
  7. Trupp's pass was great. Had to thread the needle on that one, and he did it perfectly.
  8. As hard as Hextall has been playing tonight, he definitely deserved that goal!
  9. I enjoyed Tarek Howard's matter-of-fact comment: "Yea, that was a dive".
  10. Duncan, check VV, check Zajac, check How come no call for Marto to score?
  11. ZAJAC!!!
  12. MARTO!! 2-1 Sioux
  13. Not to take anything away from Duncan's shot, but man that looked like Kozek shooting!
  14. If he could punch the ref for letting the mugging go, he probably would, but since he can't he's gotta go at the player who did the mugging.
  15. Hextall was soooo wide open he got surprised and almost waited too long.
  16. Interference on Cornell. Sioux PP!
  17. If you click the "Listen Live" link on www.kfgo.com you should be able to listen to the game.
  18. Unless the rule was changed, VV is allowed to have his skate in the crease as long as he's not interfering with the goalie. As soon as he got in the way of the CU goalie, it became an issue. Maybe I just don't understand, but why should it matter who initiated contact? The fact is, there was contact, and it was because VV's skate was in the crease when the goalie ran into it. The rule used to say that you couldn't be in the crease at all, but the title game that was Denver vs. Maine caused that rule to change. There was a goal that was waved off in that game because a player had his toe in the crease on the opposite side of the crease from where all the action was. The player's toe didn't cause anything to change in the play, but because of the rule, they had to call off the goal. Following that game, they changed the rule so that as long as you're not interfering with the goalie, it's not bad to have a foot in the crease.
  19. I saw VV foot on the redline of the crease. I don't know the rule, but I would assume the red counts as part of the crease. It doesn't matter who initiates the contact because VV shouldn't have been in the crease. The goalie is allowed to have his space to move.
  20. VV foot WAS on the red outline of the goalcrease when it made contact with the CU goalie's foot. Hard to argue.
  21. OT: MSU just scored. 1-0 MSU over UMn
  22. The one I didn't like was when Eidsness grabbed the puck in his glove and stood up with it and the Cornell player took a swing or two at E's glove while he was standing up. So it was essentially hitting his midsection. In my eyes, that was a penalty.
  23. Calm down, all I was saying was that since LaPoint is a defenseman, there's no use in complaining about his lack of offense right now. If he was brought in as an offensive defenseman, but locked down the blue line like Matt Greene, then sure, go ahead and complain that he's not scoring a few points here and there. The fact remains, though, that they are both defensemen. If you're relying on your defensemen for offense, then you have bigger problems.
  24. This is only partly true. He was physical, then kept getting tons of penalties called on him because he's so much bigger than everybody else. After that, his only option was to not be physical. Then everybody got mad at him and called for him to sit because he wasn't playing physical enough. It was the exact same thing that happened to Matt Smaby and Matt Greene. Then, after a bit of time, for all three of them (Smaby, Greene, Finley), they learned how to play in the WCHA with their size, and they became a force. But to say Finley has always been a presense is not true. And if people are going to complain about LaPoint's lack of offense, then we should have the forum flooded with threads calling for Jones to be benched.
  25. Until tomorrow, then all bets are off.
