  1. Not a very good PP. Gave up the puck with an errant pass too many times.
  2. Well that turned into a huge mess. Tie game. 1-1
  3. How do you let interference like that go without a call?
  4. FRATTIN!!!! Awesome assist from Vande Velde
  5. Hextall sure seems calm and level headed. For a guy like him to say that he recognizes that fighting isn't the same in college as it is in juniors is a huge. Sounds like he has a great time getting into their head, though.
  6. To be honest, I'm not sure. The last I heard was that there was a lawsuit filed against the band. And I know the bus driver was charged with something. I'm pretty sure the band did donate some money for environmental causes. Then again, they do that constantly as it is, but I think they donated something to Chicago, specifically. Fact is, the band had nothing to do with it. The bus driver's contract with the band had ended when this thing happened. The driver was on his was to St Louis (I think) from Chicago after that leg of the tour had ended. No band member was on the bus when it happened. I'm pretty sure that that bus driver will no longer be hired by the band (if he even has his job anymore).
  7. Anybody else watching the FSN feed? Who's this "Morto" kid they keep talking about?
  8. And here I was just going to comment that I think the 4-on-4 would benefit the Sioux.
  9. GOAL WATKINS!!!!
  10. Yea, the FSN cameras are definitely at a higher angle than the FSSN cameras.
  11. This is quite possibly one of the most awkward interviews I've ever seen.
  12. That was a sweet shot! If you watch the blade of his stick he's aiming what looks to be low on the goalie's left side. Then right as he shoots her turns his stick to take it to the opposite corner and nails it! Sweet shot for Marto!
  13. Always nice to see accusations thrown around without all the facts. Not to mention that joke has been played to death since that happened over four years ago. I think i'm just gonna wait it out to see when the one-day passes go on sale. I don't really want to spend $180 on the full pass. No doubt I'll be at Alpine this year to bring my number up to 17.
  14. Unfortunately, the only ticket available right now is the full four-day pass to the festival. $180. I don't know, though, if they will eventually add a two- or one-day pass, though.
  15. Just finished. I don't like this one as much because of the giant black area at the bottom. The Sioux logo works better because it's more about lines and accents. I think in the future for large areas I'm going to try to figure out how to make it look like a solid shaded area rather than an area that's colored in, if that makes any sense.
  16. I actually got the whole thing as a kit. It came with two slices of wood, the woodburner, a sheet of paper with some patterns and a peice of carbon paper to transfer the patterns to the wood. If you head over to Michaels they might have the kit. Otherwise I know they have woodburners (with a variety of tips, somewhere between $15 and $40) and an assortment of slices of wood (already cut, dried and sanded). It's a very cheap hobby to get involved in. My only recommendation from my oh-so-extensive knowledge of the hobby is that if you can afford to spend a couple extra bucks on a better burner, definitely go for it. You'd get a hotter iron so it will burn more easily (or maybe even an adjustable one, i really have no idea). Plus I can only imagine if you spend a bit more the handle might be insulated a bit more. I actually have to wear a glove after a little bit because my hand gets so hot. I've already got the logo for the Minnesota Wild traced onto the other slice of wood that came with the kit. I'll probably try that one out tomorrow.
  17. I wasn't sure where to post this, but I thought some people might enjoy it. I got a beginner woodburning kit a couple months ago and when I finally cracked it open I decided to try out burning a Sioux logo. It's rather complex to try as a first try at this hobby, but it's a really cool logo. It didn't turn out perfect, but hey, it was my first try! It wasn't done free hand, but I printed out a black and white copy of the logo, and traced it on using the supplied (with the kit) carbon paper. After that it was just following the lines, then filling it in. Here it is before I filled it in: http://sugarwill.com/projects/logo/100_0381.JPG
  18. It's interesting to hear different perspectives about our team. The Tech announcers are talking about how the Sioux are great at antagonizing other teams. He said "I don't mean that in a bad way". He was complimenting them on how good they are at getting under the skin of the other teams. He also commented how the Sioux are a tough team to play year in and year out and how they don't play cheap or dirty.
  19. The Tech announcers just commented on him.
  20. Well, that sucks. I forgot MTU was on in the eastern time zone, so I missed the whole first period. Good to see the Sioux on the top end so far.
  21. Watch the video again, Dave. Zach doesn't flip out and chase Lucia after taking his gear off. He skates in his direction, prepared for the confrontation. He doesn't flip out until the refs tackle him. Nobody knows what Jones was going to do. Nobody knows what Jones and Lucia talked about on the ice. You don't KNOW that Jones was going to attack an unwilling Lucia. As AZSioux said, if Jones really wanted to "attack" Lucia, he wouldn't have waited until the puck dropped, he would have gone after him at first opportunity. Do you know why he didn't? Because that's not what you do in hockey. And for as many stupid and ignorant comments that constantly fly around this forum, to say that a fight (in hockey? No!) is WORSE than a spear absolutely takes the cake.
  22. Like it or not, fighting is a part of hockey. I don't necessarily like it, but I accept it. In my eyes, Jones did the RIGHT thing. He talked to Lucia (supposedly). He took off his gloves, he took off his helmet, and was prepared to lay it on the line and have a fair fight. Lucia broke code (from what we understand and assume) and skated away. Yea, there are a lot of assumptions here, but we probably won't ever find out what exactly happened but at least Jones didn't just chase down Lucia and start hacking him with a stick, or crosschecking him in the neck while he was laying on his back on the ice.
  23. For anybody interested, at 6:30 CST tonight on Fox College Sports - Central, you can see a replay of last nights (I assume) Sioux/Gophers game.
  24. That's pretty much exactly how I was thinking.
  25. They were really stretching that analogy, weren't they?
