I agree... My question would be how do you see us increasing attendance? Marketing? Opponents? Then if we can achieve the growth in attendance will it hold in a outdoor stadium in North Dakota? My fears have always been the population growth has not been great enough to support. We have what I consider a aging population. We will need to grow the population base (imo) and also Market better in the surrounding communities to come and enjoy a Football experience. It will be more difficult however, if it is outside in below zero weather.

UND gave up all rights to concession revenues when they moved to off campus sites....aka REA and Alerus. All profits from concessions belong to the facility.

I believe Ryan Chappel can no longer be a Sioux. I think he needed to attend summer school in order to keep himself on track for a poosible return next year, and he did not.....

I understand being proud about your tradition and history.....TAMKU holds 7 national titles, but the last one was 30 years ago 1979......their website is alot about that... They have a 2nd year head coach trying to revive their program that has a total of 15 losses the last 2 years, I believe UND will win, bu nothing is ever easy....

Last year 5 loses, got some Teams in the Top 25.....

Channel 11 KVLY (Fargo) just did a piece on UND Volleyball, Petersen said she was expecting a big contribution from the freshmen, there are No Seniors on this years squad.......time will tell......? Britta Hanson (jr.) from Thompson, N.D. could be a Dominate player at this level with the right Coaching and Leadership..imo

Some old friends will be coming home in September 12-14. UND will honor either the 89-90 or 90-91 Mens Basketball Teams and enter them into UND's Hall Of Fame. These teams were some of the best in UND History names like Boushee, Gulseth, Jacobsen, Vonesh, Burkett, and Coaches like Rich Glas and Greg McDermott.......It should be fun!

I agree with almost all of your post, I just hope that the Fan Interest is there....? I have been to more D-1 Basketball in the last 2-3 years because of friends and some of those Games UNI vs Creighton last year drew less fans then UND vs South Dakota back in the early 90's at UND.... Now Football..... I do not pretend to have all the answers, but I know you need to WIN for Fan Support. That will be the toughest because we can not get anyone to play us when we do win.....Case in point do you think UNI will ever Travel to Grand Forks in the next 5-10 years unless they have too....? No Way, we beat them at there place they are not coming here until we have a conference affilation with them. So we will play pasties at home and Exciting Fun to watch Games on the Road...

We just agree to disagree on this, I do not think Gene Roebuck would consider a Great West Basketball title (or whatever) on equal footings with a Division 2 National Title (Conference may10-12 Teams vs National D-2 Maybe 200+ teams) As far as Football, again I would say that wining a 1-AA National Championship (again 100 schools) gives your school and program about the same amount of reconigition as a D-2 National Championship (over 200 Schools). To the average College football fan there is not alot of difference. The one thing that 1-AA will give us is a Chance once or twice a year to play the "Big Boys" for a payday, and some possible reconigition, depending upon how we do....?

This is TRUE for only football.... All other sports Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, basically whatever we (UND) decides to compete in, we will be recruiting, competing for wins, post season play and National Championships against those schools (Oklahoma, Texas ect..)
