  1. Some more thoughts. The home page should perhaps have more of a "home page" feel to it. Like, a bigger logo, or the logo with "siouxsports" written in large font across the middle/top, so that the home page can be distinguished from the rest of the site. Also, instead of calling that section "news," call the "all topics news" section "home."

Having said that though, maybe it is best to leave it the way it is, you don't have to go with the norm. It is very nice.

  2. So SiouxMD, where exactly did you see the new site earlier then the rest of us? What was the link? Thanks.

Overall, I like the new site lay out. It is really cool. This is one of the BEST fan websites around and just got better! Nice job! I see there are more adds though...

  3. I was in Missoula and went over to watch the Griz scrimmage on Saturday. Wow, is their stadium nice. In my opinion, there is no substitute for a true, outdoor field. UND needs to get back to an outdoor field. Yes, it was just a scrimmage, but it was easy to tell that it was a great place to watch a football game. The atmosphere just isn't the same in a dome as outside.

  4. not sure whats not viable, you can buy tix online from people who have them, either they put them at will call or meet you before the game or they ship them to you, the only thing you cant do beinf 3 hours away is get them from the box office

OK, thanks. I am sure I will be at the game one way or another then... Go Sioux!

  5. im sure there will be tix on the ticket forum here and the ralph, no need to worry about tickets ever, at worst get a few outside arena before the game....

plus if you want lower bowl or club tix thats the way to go anyways as you will never get lowers on ticketmaster

Thanks. Some of those options are not really viable because I live 3 hours from Grand Forks. But it is nice to know that I don't have to worry about tickets! :whistling:

  6. I want to go to the Michigan St. game and am wondering how fast it will sell out? I won't be able to get tickets right away tomorrow, should I be worried? Or will it not matter too much and am I way to worried about this? Thanks.

  7. Heard there is a good chance another home game is close to being finalized. Good team from out east.

That would definitely be sweet! I hope this is the case.

  8. O.K., this has nothing to do with the Alerus/Canad complex, but since there has been some discussion of football attendance in this thread, I thought I'd post this here--what is the deal with the almost complete lack of a marketing effort to sell football season tickets? I've seen something like two billboards in Grand Forks, but nothing on TV, the radio or in the Herald. :)

Yes, I have wondered the same thing. I live in Minot and you wouldn't even know UND had a football program. But every year, it seems, there is a NDSU billboard. I think UND football and sports could use some more promotion. But then again, maybe there is no need for it and it would just be a waste of money.

  9. I would think the QMJHL teams would beat the USHL teams pretty handily. After all, the step before the NHL (or NHL farm system) is either college or major junior hockey. The USHL is below college on the ladder. Should be interesting to follow though.

  10. That was a great game last night...

I think the Ducks if they win the Stanley Cup are going to put some holes in the theory that small teams are going to dominate the New NHL. Because right now the Ducks are taking it to the Senators and the Senators aren't a bad team at all nor are they small.

Yeah, the Ducks are a pretty big team. And they are mighty good. It is very apperent how they use their size and work over other teams.

  11. Is the kid any good? It is hard to imagine him being cut by Minot and then making the GFRR team. Did/Does he contribute or is he, if he made the team, a pine dweller?

This is all past. Nick Krebsbach went on to play a season for Wayne State. I was trying to find stats for his high school season(s) and could not find any.

  12. Is he coaching Red River? If not then your point is whack.

I'll be the first to admit that Red River has benefited from imports. Nick Krebsbach (Minot) Danny Irman (Fargo North) Alex Simonson (GFC).

It is hard to consider Nick Krebsbach a transfer. If I am not mistaken, he was cut from Minot High before he went to GFRR.

  13. I wish they would come down to Fargo and speak to our high school hockey players, as a number of them were suspended for drinking violations. I have a son that plays hockey in high school and drinking is a real and serious problem, one that I do not take lightly. My son is a huge sioux hockey fan and looks up to these players. What an impression they would make if they came down and spoke to the team.

Yes, Minot could also use these guys. Something like 5 kids were suspended for drinking this past season. It is not a good deal.

  14. I am considering going into a geography field for school. And I am looking for information on UND's geography department. I am such a big Sioux fan and supporter of this state in general that I wouldn't mind going to UND and am looking into what they offer for geography lovers :( .

    Thanks for any information.
