In my opinion, if a kid can't make NAHL at a minimum or the USHL, he has no business leaving high school hockey. But when parents have money burning a hole in their pocket, what can you do...

They way I look at it, if North Dakota were just a part of Minnesota, EDC would be Section 9 and WDA would be Section 10 and it would all make sense.

This is correct. The district demographics have changed.
I think most of the team is Shanley kids if I am not mistaken.

"Classes for sports" just means "how competitive do we want our games."
Is Larimore HS gonna start hockey because there's more classes?
If there's 9 man football maybe they need 3 man hockey.
It means Hazen, Mayville, etc. could play in a competitive division of high school hockey with Watford City, Langdon etc. It also means Red River, Century, Minot, etc. could play less non-competitive games with Hazen etc. and more games with Minnesota schools.

Help basketball in small towns: 3 classes.
Help hockey in small towns: Crickets.
High School Hockey is dying under the NDHSAA. Pay attention to Coach Wilson getting his shots in on the WDAY broadcast. He's right.
The lack of two classes is frustrating.

Bismarck High's woes have taken up a lot of the talk this year, but also, what is going on with Grafton Park River. They now haven't won the play in game for EDC since the 20-21 season.

After reviewing the totality of the situation and considering everything in context, there is no way to justify extending Bubba's contract. And I love Bubba and wanted it to work out so much.

It will. Dramatically. WDA as a whole is
But at the same time Minot fills a: Varsity team
JV team
A Junior Gold team
and I was told there's still a significant number of kids that were told "no place to play, you're done with hockey."
That's a school board nightmare
But that only takes into account pure numbers and not where they proportionally live throughout the two districts.
They attempted to put together a second Junior Gold team but couldn't get coaches and everything lined up.

So why did Bismark's varsity play them?
They were trying to get the 6 points.
