jacks you're entitled to your opinion, but I think you're way off. UND is easily the #1 choice right now if the MVFC had to add another team. They don't, but if they did it would be UND. There just isn't anyone else, "closer to home" or not. Not with UND's flagship status, facilities, financial support, etc.

Just another reason why dropping the logo is the simplest way. Maybe not the best way, but the simplest way.

When the Vikings go deep in the playoffs/win the superbowl, there is no possible way that a new stadium on the Metrodome site won't get done. They'll play in the new Gophers stadium while under construction. It'll be an expansion team or a different team than the Vikings.

It's probably nonsense, but I thought Kelly said he wanted to stay at Cincy and build them into a powerhouse program? They are investing in new practice facilities, upgraded coach's salaries and looking at how to expand the stadium to 50k.

You can't gauge it based on this season. You have to look at the potential.

Look guys, the perfect example was already brought up in a round-about way (just not stated explicitly): Iowa vs Iowa State. They are in different conferences (Big Ten and Big XII), but still find a way every year to get the game scheduled. It's a fantastic in-state rivalry that is the talk of the state every year. Just like NDSU and UND should/can be.

I think until NDSU can get UND into the MVFC, we'll have to make do with home/home contracts. I'd like to see NDSU schedule a game against a team from the Big Ten or Big XII every season and then schedule home/home games against good FCS teams for both the other games. I'm sick of seeing us play cupcakes. It's time to get some good FCS competition from outside the MVFC in the dome. Bring on the Big Sky, Great West, CAA, SoCon, etc. UND can be one of those home/home teams on a rotating basis, until they get into the MVFC.

Nope, you're fantasizing at this point. There will be no criminal investigation as there were no laws broken. It was a faulty process without the correct oversight, that lead to the mistakes in the cost estimating.

No crime has been committed. Time to move on and deal with the situation as is. New president. New rules/oversight will be drawn up to ensure that simple mistakes like this won't happen again.

I really hate to tell you guys "I told you so", especially when it's so pointless with how bad UND and NDSU have done this season, but.... Iowa State beats Nebraska in Lincoln, 9-7, 2nd place in Big XII North, Colorado in Ames and Missouri in Columbia left (probably 1-1). Texas tech loses at home to Texas A&M, 52-30, 4th place in BXII South, OK St in Stillwater, Oklahoma in Lubbock and Baylor in Waco left (0-3 or 1-2).

You're probably right...everyone who was involved in the NDSU vs UND issues back in 2003 at the admin levels needs to leave, before it can really be resumed the "correct" way (play the game every year). Taylor will probably only agree to a game here, game there, when it "fits his scheduling strategy". Kup and Thomas are gone. Chapman is gone. Now just need Taylor to leave to close the loop. But I still say, Taylor or not, that UND will be in Fargo for at least a single game in 2012. I would carve that one in stone. It's just a matter of if we can get to a point of having the game every year without UND being the same football conference. Which by the way, UND and USD should both be members of the MVFC.

In both cases, the individual's right to ownership of the property is more important than either the majority or minority's wishes, IMO.

I agree in the case of the Sioux nickname, if the majority on the reservations support the nickname then the tribal councils should support it and negotiations on 30 year contracts should be allowed to commence. But, of course, then you swung totally to the opposite side of the spectrum and are way out of line by proclaiming that the majority can never be wrong and that the minority might be ignored in all cases. Utterly ridiculous and I'm quite thankful we don't live in that world! Just imagine if the majority decided it would be best to bulldoze your house for the better good of the community so they could build a park, or something along those lines. Minority and even individuals have rights that must be recognized for a proper society.

Forum link is broken right now...points to an unrelated story. Really it's only 2 sports, XCountry and Track. But you get to count XC, indoor track and outdoor track as separate sports for men and women for a total of 6. Looks like they're gearing up for the inevitable move to DII for the DAC. They better not get a single cent more financial support from the NDUS. That's only going to be money taken away from NDSU and UND. IMO, VCSU and Mayville should be either shut down or moved to junior college status. ND has way too many 4 year universities.

I kind've like the co-coordinator approach. You've got one guy on the field and one guy in the box. Best of both worlds. On running downs, the guy who handles the running defense calls the shots...then the other guy takes it for passing downs. And of course the head coach is listening in and can veto when necessary.

NDSU requires an engineering ethics course as well and has a philosophy dept which teaches a general ed-type ethics course.

You only take ethics if you're pre-blood sucker...whoops I meant pre-law. The law school is up north.

I would say SDSU's loss to LaCrosse was worse because Sioux Falls has scholarships. They're about on the DII level and I think they would compete well at the national level in DII.
