  2. This is exactly what I was trying to get at. And he knows it too. He's trying to play dumb and type out long posts to avoid the point.
  3. I don't understand why you have so much respect for a deadline that was set by the NCAA, when it was the NCAA that launched the attack on Native American nicknames, mascots and logos.
  4. I never claimed to "get it". I'm saying, just because you wake up on Dec 1st 2010 and there has been no Standing Rock vote does not mean all your passion for the Sioux nickname is going to vanish into the thin air.
  5. That wasn't the point. The point is: I find it very hard to believe that all the fire and passion for the Sioux nickname simply vanishes because the numbers on the calendar advance forward by one.
  6. Sorry, gray areas are not allowed on message boards.
  7. What is magical about Nov 30th 2010? What if the SR votes on Dec 1st, 12:01am to support the nickname? Oh too bad, it's too late now? I find it very hard to believe that all the fire and passion for the Sioux nickname simply vanishes because the numbers on the calendar advance forward by one.
  8. There was probably no way Ralph could've known back then that the NCAA was going to start the hostile and abusive program and thus give those activists authority to do something about it. But the point still stands, IMO, once the state settled with the NCAA, you've had all this time to cut a deal with the tribes and make them business partners in the nickname. I didn't see anything even close to that happen.
  9. So if they vote 85% in support of the nickname, the largest turnout on SR ever.....but in Dec 2010....you won't demand that the SBoHE reverse its decision on the nickname?
  10. So when is the Standing Rock scheduled to vote?
  11. Seems like not many of the players knew about it.
  12. But you can have an oversight procedure that would've prevented all of this.
  13. It's an oversight issue. Rest assured, this type of thing won't be happening again any time soon. There will be oversight procedures a hundred pages long by the time they're through.
  14. It's an article about something that happened to a player last year. Irrelevant to this spring.
  15. UND needs to praise these kinds of fans and dump the low-lifes who are threatening to withhold support if the nickname is changed.
  16. As I predicted, Forum is trying to suck every last drop of blood out of this story and stir the pot as much as possible: http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/276374 The part about being on ESPN if it were a BCS school is laughable. The media is so full of itself.
  17. They'd get a lot of footage of parking rules enforcement.
  18. Hey there PL! I knew it was you by the spot on grammar "His one and only internet is to stir the post", classic.
  19. Well done! I think all the non-fans on here threatening to withhold donations should go all the way and refuse to watch the teams, whether in person or on TV.
  20. Lets see if the SR can show that they're not completely hapless and hold a vote. Then that would be something. Until then, the nickname is dead.
  21. There is nothing to respond to, he was just stating a common truth for any recruiting that goes on at the top level of college athletics (UND included).
  22. I think the Big 10 will leave the Big XII alone. Missouri would be a decent addition, but I think they'll look to take the historical BCS programs from the Big East. Rutgers, UConn, Syracuse, Pitt and Notre Dame. You'd have an East division with pairings of Mich-MSU, OSU-Pitt, Penn St-Rutgers, Syracuse-UConn and a west division with pairings of Ind-Pur, ND-NW, Ill-Iowa, Minn-Wisc. If Notre Dame can't be pulled in, maybe you see Boston College instead? Now the Pac 10, on the other hand, I don't think they can leave the Big XII and still expand with reasonable universities. Colorado seems like a lock...but then who after that? Maybe they repeat the Arizona method and take both CU and CSU to lock up Colorado? CSU research spending has probably broken the 300 million mark, very respectful for a school with no med college. Overall, I think they'd be about like Washington State.
  23. I had the opportunity to learn a bit more about California HS wrestling on an AGS thread. Pretty good HS wrestler out in California, it looks like. Very Surprising there isn't a dominate college program from out there.
  24. I never said they were over reporting. I would be doing the same thing they're doing, if I were them. They've got to sell stories to get people's attention. They've got to make money. Well, this is a big money maker for them. Taylor's comments in today's Kevin Schnepf article are exactly correct. Bohl is doing right, there is nothing more than could've been done here. http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/275856/group/Sports/
  25. Yeah but if you read this message board you'd think Bohl and Taylor made the players steal. Some posters on here need to get a grip.
