  1. For yesterday, Mar 26 In the uranium portion of this June of 1976 NDGS Newsletter... I'm not even going to try to paraphrase, just quote... I wonder how that worked out for them?
  2. Early results are in. Leaderboard With 2 games in the books, just 6 people still have a perfect sheet. 5 of those picked UND to win it all, 4 in a title game vs. UMD.
  3. A veritable avalanche of news articles in the last two days are on the news page (you may want to click the "Newest" tab to get chronological order). I came here with intent of copying the links into the thread, but there really are too many. Here are a few of my favorites: After Capitals prospect recovers, Sioux fight back Proving Ground Umile under fire (UNH's own version of a Fire Hakstol thread)
  4. There was a little bit of talk about it here a couple days ago...
  5. UND was 110 years old in '93
  6. Here's the krach predictions. By virtue of a much easier opening round game, Notre Dame comes out with a slightly higher chance of surviving it all and taking home the hardware. The other UND, less so
  7. Hey, I fixed the problem with your exclamation points last year! In all seriousness, though, that could only leave a password problem, so I'll get in touch with you by PM later.
  8. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but it's probably time for a reminder that unsubstantiated rumors that are potentially defaming aren't allowed (see forum terms and rules above).
  9. Cool, guess I can't blame John for being too fast with the trigger finger then
  10. Distribution of picks
  11. Thanks John! Do you know where the puck is in this shot? I'm trying to remember the setup of this shot -- is Gregoire grabbing it from behind the net?
  12. I was just coming here to point out the same thing. It really doesn't matter in a 1-4 game (yeah, yeah, momentum, blah blah blah), but it looks reasonably legit to me -- I think Blood's first contact is what caused the contact with Eidsness. 13. By all means continue to post links in this thread because it allows discussion, but this is a good time for me to stump a little bit for the News page (click News on the navbar at the top to go to http://news.siouxsports.com). Particularly when there are all these articles in unusual sources, it's a handy one-page stop for the most recent articles about the Sioux (or Sioux hockey in particular, if you limit it to such). Though I try to keep up with scouring the web (as I did for all the years before that page), now anyone can submit a link.
  14. Yeah, there was some weird stuff for people with symbols in their username (because the message board software stored the symbols differently so I was looking up the wrong name), which I thought was pretty well fixed. However, that issue shouldn't apply to passwords, though I suppose their could be some similar issue. Lobo, I'll follow up with you in a PM later.
  15. Yeah, it's just a labor-intensive manual process to update the brackets each year and all I got done last night was the submission form. I'll get the "consensus picks" up tonight or tomorrow. Should be interesting to see how many Sioux fans give BU the nod -- I'm guessing at least 25% (which, historically, would be very high).
  16. UND hockey kicked off it's 1996-97 championship season with... Oct. 11 '96 loss to Alberta (1-2). A fascinating look at SiouxSports.com circia 1996
  17. Mar. 21 UND volleyball's opponents had 1197 digs in the 2000 season
  18. As usual, this is the "soft launch" of the bracket challenge. Message board denizens should go check it out, try to fill it out, and point out any problems. Despite USCHO posting it wrong for a while (as usual), I feel like I got the regions right this year (East plays Northeast and West plays Midwest ). Assuming no problems are found, I'll throw it open to the world on the front page tomorrow. 2009 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey bracket challenge
  19. From Men's Hockey: Drive To D.C. Begins Saturday, March 28, 2 p.m. Eastern time, ESPN2/ESPN360.com No. 2 North Dakota (24-14-4) vs. No. 3 New Hampshire (19-12-5)
  20. Hot goaltender indeed, the NCAA selection show just noted that Stalock's SV% in the Final Five was .989, stopping 90/91 shots. Congrats UMD, what a run. Update - Melrose just picked UMD to go all the way... sorry Duluth fans
  21. Though I agree Minnesota is out, as usual I think USCHO slightly misstates it. I don't see that UMN can actually finish higher than 15th anymore, with #17 looking most likely. BU winning pushes them to #16-17, while UML winning makes them #15 or #17 (with #16 possible but quite unlikely). Air Force matters -- if Mercyhurst wins UMN is #15-#16, if Air Force wins they're quite likely #17 (with #16 possible but unlikely). I think.
  22. I was going to say something similar... I think of Brad's thing as more of a live blog than a chat. Every couple years someone brings up the idea of chat here (and in fact we had a chat back in the late '90s), but then most people express a preference for the permanence of threads. I do think Brad's live blog helps fill the chat void, though, making a real chat even less necessary, but it's up to you guys.
  23. Sagard is just trying to distract us from the bigger picture. A friend of a friend's sister's cousin just sent me minutes from the secret (perhaps poorly named) "fat cat bonus meetings". You'll never guess who was in attendance. Geithner, check. Liddy, check. Dodd, check. Frank, check. Lucia, ?!?!?
  24. Thanks to mikejm for the idea, we have a nifty new tinfoil hat smiley. I thought it deserved its own thread... I heard when they searched the grassy knoll in Dealey Plaza they found.... a Gopher hole
  25. The Gophers (and BC) will get in because the tri-lateral-commission says so.
