Blake will play in the NHL for a long time. He needs to play one more year though. Def could play next year..I think time should be spent getting more consistent on the D side. But his O game is there right now.

And though he is no Oshie, he is surprisingly strong on his feet with the puck--unless it's a tripping situation, and he knows how to sell that.    Quite unlike Schmaltz, who can be taken off the puck fairly easily.   And I like Schmaltz for what he does.

What going on with only 7 pages of gameday thread? Where did all the hockey fans go?

There are way more hockey only fans than football only fans. I just wonder why the football forum is more active than the hockey one on a game day. I’m a fan of both. Been to multiple times more hockey games than football this last decade. Also both teams have deserved high scrutiny the last few years too.

Seems to this poster you are a fan of losing so you can play your bit.   But that is probably inaccurate, and you really are eager to discuss the game of hockey rather than just bad outcomes.

We’re all UND fans, though, and just like seeing them win, regardless how we go about being a fan, so its all good.

I guess I’m one of those people who is content being a mediocre fan and not a champion fan.

Good takes on some past championship teams...I think the talent is there; not sure if they have enough grit to win 4 in a row when it counts.  After the last DU series I would have picked them to win it all but not so sure now.  All that being said, me and 7 UND alumni will be at the Frozen Four to hopefully cheer the boys on!  Sioux, Yeah Yeah!

That unpredictability is part of what makes college hockey so good, IMO.

Baxter Arena apparently doesn’t set aside seats for the visiting team’s players who are not playing to sit in. Everytime they sat somewhere some late arriving UNO fans would show up to their seats and they would have to move.

    OK, makes sense

He sat by us on Saturday for a bit before he was forced to move seats for a 4th time. Still on crutches. Might be a bit yet before he’s back.

    Why move seats?

  6. Paid a little visit to The Ledge yesterday.    Pretty crowded.   Fans with a dazed, desperate look, some moaning “I don’t deserve this” and “We used to be elite!”   There were some vacant spaces along the outside edge, suggesting some may have already jumped, though I was afraid to lean out and look for splat marks below.   It was pretty obvious that gf, who has been a full time resident since 5 years after Hak became HC,  and his business, Gfhockey Ledge Properties, are benefitting from the recent sweeps by CC and Omaha.   They must have rebuilt the elevators, because they were reportedly able to fill large areas of the Ledge this weekend in the time it takes to play one period of hockey.

Not sure I’d want to go back up there if the boys lose to Miami this weekend.   Many of those up there now will be gone, and not because they took the “down” elevator.

Going to Omaha, I'm wishing for a Siouxeep! Went to Colorado Springs, had to listen to them chant "OVER-RATED" Saturday night for the last 3 minutes of the game. I do not want to hear that chant again.

Few would probably agree with me, but as long as we keep a regional 1 seed, I have no problem with us getting spanked by CC.   Even very good teams (of which UND is one) need to reminded now and then how much concentration and hard work it takes to win this time of year, to say nothing of winning 4 in a row against the best teams in the country.

From the aforementioned linked Bracketology article:

"First, I’d love to get Wisconsin to Maryland Heights, which is a community known for its love of the Badgers."

    What's the connection there?

A lot of mental defect from heavy metal exposure.

I'm going way off the board ...

    UND
    DU
    CC
    SCSU
    WMU
    UNO
    UMD
    Miami

I'm calling a DU/CC split and UMD to show a pulse and more at home.
WMU will walk Miami because their PWR dies otherwise.

Quite a bit of thought went into that, as is Sic's habit.   I looked at unis and cheerleaders.
