They use back channels. I don't know the identity of this person either.

Unless something is official, I wouldn't put 100% stock in it anyway. Blake was supposed to have signed with Carolina yesterday.

I'm a social media idiot, so I'm sincere here.   What is a back channel in modern social media setting?   Someone published to a person who then contacted you?  Again, I'm not questioning the accuracy of your statement--just wanting to understand the process.  Mostly because a shyt ton of the information we consume moves in manners similar to that.

I'm spending my time perusing the portal page pondering possibilities and potentials of players possible to put in an appearance playing puck profoundly for UND.

And I'm working on my alliteration skills.

Better than listening to these nattering nabobs of negativism.

League forward and player of the year.
    Sets league season scoring record.
    Hobey finalist.
    Off track.

How about CAR doesn't want to lose a draftee in a year.

Take it from a guy who regularly talks through his arse, Sioux> is talking through his arse.

How about if your expectation is to win some games in the regional and put yourself in position to win a natty instead of flaming out in the first round - or even making the tournament?

Those folks were deeply unhappy under Hak, and there were a lot of them.

I'm old enough now to where I can't let what a 20 year old (Whom I'll never probably meet) decides to do with his (ope, he/they/them) life effect mine too much.

They've got to make a decision and live with it, and I've got to figure out how to help my 12 year old figure out his short game so he can make the junior high golf team.

Let's get the ship righted with whoever is on the roster in September.  I'll still bleed green either way and still have to explain to my wife why I yell at the TV on Friday's and Saturdays from October through March.

Exactly, Wilbur.   We can be fans of the game and program without letting results make or ruin our day.    Small stuff/big stuff.

That doesn't mean you won't be available if they're in a pinch for a tendie, though, right?

Oh for Christ's sake. Your comment is without merit. UND’s recruiting class is ranked second next season. Besides, where was said recruit going to fit?

UND has a higher average star rating than Mich, Mich St. WI, and UMinn??    But chippahs . . .

Grand Forks has never had the amenities of places like Denver, Minneapolis or Boston. But it hasn't stopped us from winning championships. And there is no reason why UND can't continue to be a blue blood in this sport. The thought of devolving into a mid-major program whose highest goal is making the NCAA tournament is nauseating to say the least. It absolutely must not be allowed to happen.

UND is still a national powerhouse and will continue to be for at least the near future.   And there are precedents, even in elite-dominated college BB.   Spokane is hardly a cosmopolitan city, yet small school Gonzaga can compete with anybody.

  8. I realize these kids are playing for a career in the NHL, but recruiting elite players is not like it was generations ago (Blais?) when a lot of them left small towns in Minnesota or the Canadian prairie and went directly to college.   Now, they're playing just about year round and spending several years in juniors.  The chippahs are on traveling teams before that.   They're getting culturally more sophisticated (or at least more experienced).   They still put hockey first, but if there are two relatively equal programs to chose from, and one is in Denver, Ann Arbor, or Boston and one is in Mankato or Grand Forks, that will be a factor to increasing numbers of kids, IMO.   To say nothing of NIL.  The day when Warroad/Roseau and Range kids identified with the small town culture in GF as opposed to the city kids in the Mpls, whom they saw as rivals growing up, is pretty much history.   Now, the elite kids in Roseau play against and with the elite twin city kids in venues and for teams other than their local high schools.

I mean it isn't yet like BB, where the blue bloods at Kentucky are very familiar with the blue bloods at Duke and other elite BB factories.   They've often been teammates on traveling club teams growing up.  College hockey isn't that yet, thank Parise, but it's getting more so.

But you all know from experience that I'm talking out of my arse on things like this.  I have no explanation for how one who knows so little can say so much.
