  1. I think UND should at least consider a head coach triumverate, kind of like what UW has in place. Thinking Wilbur, Mafia, and Goon. Wilbur can coach the loonies between the pipes. There will be beer probably.
  2. I don't know. He's delivering pizza these days, so probably not a lot of coin to spend on hookers and blow.
  3. I get how disappointed many of us are and the need to vent. But I've never understood the need to turn ugly on our own. It's worse than the stupid retaliatory penalties we criticize the players for.
  4. You, on the other hand . . . .
  5. I know. I was having fun, fs4l. I know we aren't supposed to have fun after a night like tonight, but what the hill.
  6. Oh no you don't. We want some red meat. Like a coach who can't loosen up and gets his players too tight to win when they have to. A team that can't play a full 60 minutes is always an option but not very satisfying. How about a coach that is too laid back and can't get his players to play with enough intensity to win when they have to? Or players who might have cared about winning last year but don't this year? Gotta be something, cause someone's going down.
  7. Another thing. Do all these draft picks have any idea now important these games are to our own personal sense of self worth and happiness? They have their puck bunnies; what are we supposed to do, kick the dog?
  8. I could tell last year this coaching staff just didn't get it.
  9. Not all of the 20 was poorly played. They controlled play for periods of time and had some very good scoring chances. Gersich should have potted two.
  10. 5-3 Hawks. This despite the shocking discovery that UNDHawks4life was feeding Deano inside information we thought only gfhockey and the Russians had access to.
  11. It will be interesting to see what Deano does about Jost and Boeser. He doesn't have great defensive tools to shut them down with. Dean being Dean, he might open it up and try to get an early lead and make us play catch up. Or maybe he just stays the course and hopes for a better outcome.
  12. You are exactly right. Yon must have been shaking his head, and Pogo usually scores on that breakaway backhand he had. Those guys will have to bury those if we hope to go anywhere.
  13. UMD and Denver have been 1 and 2 PW all season long, and look how close their games have been with other NCHC teams, including the bottom of the pack. This is one tough conference. And an even field nationally. All the more reason for us to have hope, so long as we make the tourney.
  14. Boeser and Jost can carry us against Omaha, a very weak defensive team, but we will need others to step up against better defensive teams.
  15. Seeing how well this team can play for stretches and then go backward makes you appreciate how error-free our Defense has been in recent years, especially last. It's a pretty fast moving game in this conference, and those guys just didn't many costly mistakes back there last year.
  16. One thing. Our fan base takes adversity well.
  17. Not much he could do. The D should have been there.
  18. Are you talking about the breakaway save on Ortega?
  19. I thought their goaltending when we played at Omaha was as bad as I'd seen, but they it's just as bad tonight.
  20. I think Granato and his staff have UW back in the game.
  21. Man UMD has been in a lot of close games this year. Especially for the #1 ranking they've had most of the year.
  22. Stop the reminiscing. I'm getting tears in my eyes thinking of Sparky.
  23. I agree--I was just poking fun at all of us, including myself, for how we've responded to FF failures over the years. For the record, I think we often attribute loses to them not caring when that is not really the case. But I'm not in the locker room, so what do I know.
  24. Experience has shown here that if we don't win that one weekend in April it doesn't matter how things went the previous 24 weekends.
  25. 9 points by former Sioux last night in Hawks/Wild game, two of the winningest teams in the league. Hattie and two assists for Toews, a goal and two assists for Nick, and a goal for God. Decent showing.
