  1. As great as Gaboric can be as an individual player I almost wish the Wild would trade him. It seems when I watch a Wild game as soon as Gaboric gets the puck it's a 1 man game. The guy should play in the NBA not the NHL. When I think of the great players the Sioux have had (Hrkac, Parise, Toews, Oshie, Panzer, etc) they all made the players around them better. Gaboric seems to exist to catch the puck. At least that's the way it seems to me.
  2. Risebrough ponied up with 8mil/yr on a multi-year deal for Hossa but he chose the Wings. I think that's a pretty strong effort to bring in a top forward.
  3. I'm thinking as soon as Finley announced he was coming back Burke smiled, and dropped the offer a couple hundred grand.
  4. It says the article is no longer available. Wonder why.
  5. He uses the word "synergy" too much. Mix in something else once in a while.
  6. Bob, someone sent me this one when we received some bad news and it was meaningful for me. In case it is for you, Proverbs 3, 5-6:
  7. I wouldn't say goalie is the weak link in this team, but I think it's the most unknown. Time will tell where we are there.
  8. Ah, another memory...
  9. I don't know about this application, but in general J-B Weld is excellent stuff.
  10. Was he held back a grade, or did he just start school a year later than others his age? Not uncommon thing to do. I want to be clear because when you say someone was held back a grade to me there's a connotation along with that.
  11. Kristo still needs to graduate high school, so that's a pretty simple answer to the "why isn't he coming this fall" question. Some kids accelerate, he decided not to.
  12. Whoa whoa whoa. You have never been so close to being put on ignore....
  13. With the price of a box of shells, especially if lead goes away, it's too much money to miss no matter WHAT type of firestick you are using. In fact, it might be too expensive to carry my semi-auto. Like my brother-in-law says "You can't be afraid to pull the trigger".
  14. Here's the part I found interesting in that piece:

Thanks for posting this Sprig. Great stuff! It was forwarded to me but I didn't know how to post it here.
  16. A couple of things. Walski isn't so young any more, though most of us expect Eidsness will be the primary goalie. You never know, though. Hard to argue with Walski's stat line... As for Eidsness, I have high hopes like many others. However, I hope we are realistic. There have been many comments on this board about "if" Eidsness can come in and play like Bachman or Kangas. I don't know how often that happens as a freshman. It would be great but hopefully we're not expecting too much of the young man in his first year. As for Harrington, I'm guessing he's been made pretty clear that his chances are not great of playing all that much, but at the same time like any position on the team, you can practice your way into the lineup.
  17. But sometimes they do. When the Sioux won in 1997 it had the potential for a phenomenal run. It was during the regular seasons, but the next 2 post-seasons were huge disappointement, IMO.
  18. Nobody can touch me, DaveK's on my side.
  19. Personally, I'm not too optimistic that Kangas will slump. I guess you never know but he doesn't strike me as a "lucky" goalie, the guy making magical saves. He just seems to be in the right place at the right time and doesn't have to look special to get the job done. I think the sophomore slumpitis is less likely to strike a goalie like that. Just my opinion.
  20. Absolutely not! Fetch, I'm going to guess Listen to the Music by the Doobies. Just guessing.
  21. Maybe you missed the game with MN but Finley pulled Wheeler into the open so they could square up, just Wheeler wasn't having any of it. One thing Joe didn't do was sucker punch Wheeler, or punch a guy who wasn't a willing partner. I respect him for that.
