  1. Duluth is a big, physical, fast, skilled, mature team (with very solid D) who got really good goaltending this weekend. It's always hard to beat a team like that. I think it's objective to say the performance on Friday was below standards despite the opponent. From what I could glean listening to the radio last night it seemed like this team had a really good start to the game for the first period +. Duluth capitalized on an error and things turned a bit. But for a younger, less mature team this probably shouldn't be cause for great alarm. Adversity helps identify those areas of weakness, which helps build for a better future if the team is successful at addressing those areas. I remember being very discouraged at the Frozen Face-Off last March because this team looked....about like they looked this weekend. And look how the next two weekends turned out. I'm not predicting a championship caliber performance next weekend. What I'm getting at is a weekend like this doesn't have to define a season. I'll wait to see how things play out before getting too excited.
  2. I've never had a kid who played, so can't say I'm familiar with the environment. But dang this is exactly how I perceive it.
  3. Maybe they are the BeeJGees (the J is sort of silent here)
  4. That's what I needed. A guard dog to go with my hunting dog!
  5. Oy, I'd probably just give them my tomatoes
  6. I just put down my girl (14+ years old ) in May. But she was a good bird dog and I taught her not to chase squirrels and rabbits. So while she was great out in the field, she didn't help much with the rodents in the yard
  7. In this day and age these were stupid posts to put on social media. But they weren't particularly threatening either. These are good learning opportunities for kids who may have had little exposure to a diverse environment and the implications of social media. I can remember back to when I was at college and did some pretty stupid stuff. I could have easily done something this thoughtless (and probably did) but because we lacked social media it didn't wrongly implicate a whole institution, and the ramifications to me were not so severe. With maturity and exposure you gain more wisdom about how to interact socially. If the resulting investigation proves some sort of punishment is warranted, fine. But I don't think these situations raise to the level of the worst of racial discrimination or threat.
  8. I didn't take it that he was trying to make it a swift process. I thought he was trying to communicate that the best process is the one that follows the correct protocols, and that would be done in this case.
  9. The one on the right looks like a guy to me
  10. I think we can be quite thankful that he didn't have a gun
  11. Well, there's only 4 songs on your old 8 track, so......
  12. Hi Mafia, sorry to hear this. All my best....
  13. What I like about this is the hawk pops and the ND fades into the background a bit. A little less corporatey IMO. Not bad.
  14. I've been trapping and disposing of them but they're like the Russians in WWII. they just keep coming, and you can't get 'em all. I do have a pellet gun but these days in the city I don't carry it around the yard. That's asking for trouble.
  15. Squirrels ate all of my tomatoes this year. bastards
  16. Clearly we're not married. You understand me.
  17. If the Big10 is trying to get you to do something, you add Mankato.
