  1. MN's saving grace is that they should have every opportunity to win their conference tournament.
  2. how about Lucia blowing it off by saying "these things happen in spirited rivalry games" but all of his belly aching about games against the Sioux. What a whiner
  3. And, if you'll note, 2 gophers on 1 badger until Rumpel steps in. Tough guys.
  4. A good night for you to drink heavily. Blais got beat by one of the worst teams in the NCHC, and Hakstol's team killed a weak team.
  5. Definitely one of my all-time favorite planes. I was thinking of that UND Flying Fortresses Then the UND Fortress Then: The "Arsenal" The University of North Dakota Arsenal
  6. I agree with pretty much everything you said but NOT SACRED. WHAT? But you are right, It's time to move forward in a secular manner with a new nickname.
  7. Wow.....when I try to post from my phone it looks like I'm really drunk. I'm going to have to take away my phone posting priviledges. That's embarrassing. I've always liked Duluth as kind of my Plan B college team but it's a little harder today, after reading reactions to Friday's game and then watching last night. Pattyn was going to take that guy apart if he hadn't passed out from fright.
  8. not my take. Pattyn didn't hit him that hard. That kid looked like Ricky hit him. Pattyn deserved hus penaltyn but that kid went down like he'd been knocked out. Imo he got what he deserved
  9. Ok, let's just all take a deep breath. DHG, perhaps it would be worth remembering that you are a guest here, and when you only show up right after your team wins it's possible other posters are going to give you a little less slack than other posters. We know DHG's history, and that lends itself to taking some shots at him, but it's not constructive and it just make the thread less interesting and enjoyable to read for everyone. Clearly the Sioux didn't play well enough last night to keep us fans happy, so we're all a bit testy. And Bulldog fans have a right to feel good about a very good road win. Might be best for Bulldog fans to step lightly, and the rest of us recognize it for what it is and try and pull back from the edge, eh?
  10. Let's try to stay away from calling other posters names, and keep things a bit more civil, shall we? Just reading through some of the threads on the board and it seems like it's starting to get a bit out of hand. We can disagree without name calling and attacking each other that way.
  11. Nice piece on Jackson Keane http://manitobahockeynews.com/jackson-keane-a-chip-off-the-old-block-2/
  12. it's a gateway robbery.
  13. In the past i've had an impression that it was easier for the road team to win Friday than Saturday. Hoping that's reality tonight.
  14. I've been trying to figure out why life isn't more like that for me
  15. Completely agree with that. I support protesters rights to protest for what they believe in (let's be smart about where. It's not all about getting attention. Sometimes it's about what attention do you want to get.). And police who are out control need to be held accountable for their actions. I wouldn't mind seeing these same people protesting against shooting of cops, who are only trying to do their jobs and keep the citizens safe.
  16. I drive a dark colored Subaru Outback, and there are times (typically weather related bad commutes) where I've driven through that intersection to get home. The night this happened I was driving home (this time on 35W south) and heard on the radio about this incident, involving a "dark colored Subaru Outback" at such and such intersection. I immediately called my wife and said "IT WASN'T ME!" :-) That said, lots of bad decisions here. Personally, I'm not a fan of protesting in the street blocking traffic. All that does is piss me off, not make me sympathize with your point of view. That said, the driver showed some real lack of judgement here. Drive around the car in front of you, and into a crowd of people? Anyone reading this think that is a good idea? Seems like the police were willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. He pulled over and called 911 himself. They originally made it out as an accident, and only later changed it to perhaps lead to criminal charges. I would guess they have their reasons. Oh, the guy's history shows quite a lack of judgment when it comes to decisions made while driving, so that's not in his favor here.
  17. Agree, based on the information provided, but it's always sketchy to assume that's all there is to it. "It's not you, it's me" usually means "I don't like you". Based on the information at hand, I understand your point. I just think it's dangerous to assume that information is robust enough to use for opinion forming.
  18. I see your point but this is where we have to stand our ground, as I've posted before. At some point, the NCAA's position tips, and public opinion is no longer on their side. IF we should decide "Arrows" is the best nickname, then I say we fight that battle.
  19. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news-education/task-force-outlines-plan-pick-new-nickname-3631898 Oh my..... Ok, I don't know what goes into getting a "thing" trademarked.....but how difficult (or simple?) will it be for anyone who sees the list of nickname options to simply go and trademark the ones they don't like? Ok, a little internet research shows it may not be all that simple, so maybe that concern is minor...
