  1. I tried to be conservative for the Sioux and still get 1. CC, 2. SIOUX, 3. MN Hopefully they will finish top 3. Much better for the play-offs.
  2. I'm all for not being ranked #1. Polls don't win games, but they can make bulletin board material for the opponent.
  3. It sucks too because the team is heading up to Alaska. My guess is it is one of the few times the family would be able to see him play... I thought his play was coming on and that he played well during the CC series. The Brian Canady we need was coming on.
  4. I didn't get to listen to or see the game but it sounds like the Sioux just got beat tonite. It's going to happen. I agree with PCM that they can use this now as a learning experience and be stronger in the long run. If anyone hears about Canady's injury please post. It's a shame because I thought he played really well in the CC series.
  5. Oops. I thought it was Lundbohm that put the wood to Ballard's, well, you know. Anyway, I watched it on the tape tonite. Ballard came in where Hale was working the puck on the board. Hale turned and saw Ballard about to hit him and brought the stick up between his legs HARD. Very ala Tallackson to Hale last year.
  6. I was there and thought the only really bad call that was missed was Notermann getting tackled in the 3rd. There will always be missed calls. I thought the game was pretty well called, myself. Oh, and did anyone see on the tv Lundbohm get revenge on Ballard? whoa...that's gotta hurt.
  7. This guy does remind me of Bayda. However, remember Prpich committed in what, May? Had Bayda stuck around this year we would have missed out on Mike. I would love to see Bayda here but I''m happy with 4 more years of Mike dusting the goalies, knocking guys over, and scoring big goals, all with a smile on his face.
  8. I turned on the KFan at 12:10 and heard some guy doing ND topics so assumed this was a show from GF or Fargo. Was this Ed Schultz at this time? At that time of the day, he was talking up the Sioux as the best team and that they would sweep the Gophers yadda yadda yadda. That would be quite a turnaround because you could see the guys' green coming through the radio...
  9. Turned it on too late. Anything important?
  10. I'll be honest. Maybe I am just a wussie but it seems to me that concussions are becoming WAY to big a deal in football and hockey. I know it is a rough sport and I like seeing guys knock each other around (i.e. Fuher's hit this past weekend) as much as the next guy, even the occasional fisticuffs. But there just seems to be too many guys who get concussions through the season. Way too many. And for me it is hurting the games. Both games. I think too many guys are out of action or leaving the game prematurely these days. I'm not old enough to have paid attention, but were the levels of concussions the same in the days before helmets?

    P.A. & DUBAY

hrkac probably is used to shopping at "koalski's" market. Just joshing you.
  13. It's nice that the KFAN network can lead out to far places, but it would seem to me that to an extent they would have wanted their on-air talent to try and accomodate that to some extent. However, what little I have heard many of the shows tend to rip the places outside of the cities given the chance. Not always but sometimes.
  14. Yeah, unfortunately the people in GF haven't had enough exp with these two. I give Dubay credit for being a Gopher fan, but even when the team was bad he didn't talk a lot of hockey other than to rant about Woog. I love PA sucking up to Pohl and Leopold last year. Man, did that make you want to vomit or what. GF listeners will learn that their show has little to know about hockey knowledge and everything to do with hype. It's too bad in a way because it could be a great forum for college hockey with the network as it is. That said, whether it is media or internet message boards, fans will always glom onto the worst of the opponents and use them as a representative of the opponents fanbase. Even I do it.
  15. I forgot about Woog's skit. That was absolutely hilarious.
  16. There's a bit of meat in that interview. Wow. Sounds like the team is going to be ready to play this weekend. Let's hope they are not too jacked to play.
  17. I agree with you Stack. I think that is a very realistic scenario. And when I was counting points on my own last week I pretty much did the same as you. Today I gave us 1 pt in Mpls and 2 in CC just because I wanted to...
  18. Central Scouting has him listed as a "A" player along with guys like Backes, Potulney, Irmen, etc. Could be because of his size.
  19. I love listening to Woog do a game. I think he is a great. Informative, and willing to criticize the home team. Sure, he's a homer but I think he is fun to listen to.
  20. If I counted I have the boys going 8-5-2 the rest of the way, starting with a tough weekend this weekend. I tried to be conservative. Giving MN a pretty decent finish, this is how I came out CC 41 UND 37 UMN 36 SCSU 34 Denver 32 UMD 31 Mankato 28 MTech 14 UW 14 AA 13
  21. I credit jk for digging up these numbers but Porter had something like just 11 points on the season until December 14. In the last 5 games he has scored 9 more. His +/- went from something like -6 or -7 to +1. I did read or hear on the internet he moved from 3rd to the 2nd line.
  22. http://www.ushl.com/ushl0203/standings_framed.htm Well he is #1 in wins but his save % doesn't rank that high. However he did have an excellent December and hopefully he can keep that up. Go Layne!
  23. Well I hope so. It's kind of hard to mess with what we had earlier on. But it could be successful at really helping spread out the scoring. Also, it makes it difficult for a MN checking line to get BOTH Parise and Bochenski. With luck this spreads that out a bit.
