  1. Anyone ever notice that anytime there's a fight in the WCHA Mike Vannelli is involved?

    Final Five

I fail to have a cow over this issue, but here are 2 scenarios where at least one can make the argument there might be a slight advantage for the gophers: 1. A large crowd cheering for the home team. Sure, the die hards will be there in the afternoon but I'll bet a fair % (30% maybe?) wouldn't be there in the afternoon. 2. If the gophers were to play on Thursday night, they would get a few extra hours to rest up than if they played in the afternoon.
  3. Section 104 Row 11 Seats 12-14. (PCM and forecheck, I'm actually LOOKING at my tickets as I post this time )
  4. Ok, I was right about how many shots we'd put up. Missed a bit on the Duluth goalie saves%. That's a GOOD miss. These guys had a 3-4-7 line just for the weekend! 1. Didn't happen. Total of 37 shots for the weekend. They needed that PER GAME. 2. Didn't get to see enough of the games to know how well they did this. 3. Didn't do this. 1. Did this. I think about a .919 saves% on the weekend. 2. Did this. I think they got 30-31 shots per game. The Horsemen were very good. 3. Ok at this. Sioux killed 5 of 7 Dog PP's on the weekend. Missed on this, but who's going to rip me for THAT?!
  5. I don't think you meant to say this! Just having fun. I agree with the sentiment of your post. Still, the lack of scoring from the bottom lines HAS been a weakness all season. I've never been one to rip their effort though. Let's look at the last 8 games. I'd pointed out last weekend that at one point the bottom 9 forwards had combined for 11 goals all season for the Sioux. Actually, if you go back to the Bucky series, prior to that the bottom 9 forwards (this includes part time forwards like Bina and Marvin and Foyt) scored a total of 10 goals. Starting with the Bucky series, that same group of forwards combined for 6 addition goals in just 6 games. That group of 9 forwards NOW has a total of 16 goals for the season, which is a nice stretch. Regarding the 3 Horsemen, here were their pre-Bucky points and their current points: Massen: 1-1-2..........1-5-6 Canady: 1-1-2..........3-2-5 Fabian: 0-2-2..........3-5-8 Yowza. That's a total of 5 goals and 8 assists over 6 games for that trio. YEAH! Way to go, guys!
  6. Yes, but you need HDTV to see them.
  7. I have 4 Frozen Four tickets packages for sale. Will sell at cost. $582.00 for 4 or $145.50 each. Prefer to sell all 4 but will split if necessary. You pay postage. No "ticket" forum here, so thought I'd post this here. Move as necessary. Contact me at dagies@aol.com
  8. WOW! Fantastic weekend for our boys. The kind of team we saw in Maine and had trouble finding all year comes back the way the fans had expected to see for some time. Great job all, especially the senior class which was very well represented "down the stretch"! Can't wait for thursday. Very happy to hear that the AA/WI series will go to 3 games. Having them have to play one extra game this weekend will not hurt come Thurs. Way to go Sioux!!!
  9. Period over. 1-0 Dogs Stapleton at 15:22 unassisted Reichmuth with 8 saves, Parise with 5. Both teams 0-2 on the PP.
  10. Fabian gets hammered in the Dog zone.
  11. 35 seconds left. Sioux not getting much going yet on this PP
  12. Someone takes Murray's helmet. On the radio broadcast you could here the ref yell "29 LET'S GO!". (Miskovich) Sioux PP. Let's make 'em pay.
  13. Sioux giveaway in Dog zone, Stapleton breaks away alone and beats Parise. Stapleton doesn't get stoned too often. Gotta get this back, boys.
  14. Coincidental minors at 14:28. Smaby and ?.
  15. Tim and ? saying there's not much flow to the game tonite. Sioux had a couple quick opportunities and now not much. Sioux killed penalty on McMahon. Now Hammond getting roughing call. Tim thought it might have been called on Greene. Good job, Greene, not losing control.

  17. I'm listening to the link on the alumni page. Working great.
  18. I love it. He's giving him the "LiveStrong Left".
  19. I saw the last 1/2 of the game on TV. I haven't seen a Sioux team look this good for a long time. O wait, I just read that we're not that good... Someone taped a picture of Bochenski on Fabian's mirror. When he gets up in the morning, suddenly he thinks he's a goal scorer. I only read about his nifty goal last week, but his first goal tonite was a goal scorer's goal. Fabian has the puck behind the net and has a Dman draped on him. He gives the guy a little "how's she goin'" and flies out the other side free as a bird. He turns out about the faceoff dots to cross the goal, he picks up a nice pick from a linemate, and scoots across the front of the goal all alone. Right before he gets picked up he rifles a poor angle shot high blocker over Johnson's shoulder. Picked a small piece of net and ripped it home. Beautiful. His next goal came on hard work by his linemates, and Zajac tried to put the puck past the goalie at the side of the goal. The puck was sitting in the crease and Fabian just picked it and slid it over past the goalie into the open corner of the net. Sioux dominated. They seemed to lay back a little in the 3rd so the play was a bit more even at times. Either that or the Dogs turned up the heat. But when I got there, for the last half of the second period the puck barely left the Dog zone. Massen, Fabian and whoever was out there with them were a force to be reckonned with. It got to the point that on the 8th goal scored by Genoway I think the Duluth goalies were just shell shocked. Genoway was fed a pass off a turnover at the Duluth blue line (Fabian?) and broke in alone. Deked a couple directions and the goalie went flat on his face, as if he could watch no more. Genoway just chipped a backhander up over him for an easy goal. Massen had a beautiful feed on the 7th goal. He broke in from the half-boards in front of the goal, occupying 2 Dogs. As he reached the faceoff dot he dropped a nifty pass to the side and behind him to a wide open McMahon. McMahon caught the pass at the goal line on his back hand, drew it out front of the sprawling goalie and snuck it past near the far post. These guys all looked like goal scorers tonite. I will agree with Runnin' that the Dogs must not have played very well. When you have teams that appear to be fairly even throughout the year, and suddenly it looks SO easy for one team, it must be more than that one team playing out of their minds. WOW. I was actually kind of happy Duluth scored again late in the game. As easy as it was coming there for a while, I think it was a good wakeup that it won't just come to them. After Duluth scored their second goal they dang near got another within seconds. Duluth also worked the PP to perfection on their last goal. That was a sweet play. Basically looked like Zoro drew a Z down the Sioux zone and suddenly the puck was behind Parise. Did someone mention that Canady was hurt? That would not be good right now. The 3 horsemen accounted for 1/4 of the Sioux scoring tonite. The Sioux scored 8 goals and were awarded a total of 22 points. Fabian/Canady/Massen accounted for 4 goals and 6 total points. Fabian had a 2-1-3 line, Massen a 0-2-2, and Canady a 0-1-1. BDB, Massen looked good to me last Friday against SCSU, and I can only assume that line continued to play very well on Saturday as they contributed to the win that night. On Friday he did have one mistake in the Sioux zone that cost a goal, if I remember correctly, but otherwise he played well, and was very physical. So IMO his strong play has now carried over for at least a few games straight. Go James!
  20. You were the fairly short woman? You walked right by me and started talking to another Sioux fan.
  21. Saw a couple of ya'lls down there. Nice crowd of Sioux fans at Senser's. What a great game.
