I emailed her. I also asked her to put the Sioux on the top of the pyramid now, since we know the results. Edit: She replied right back. Poor woman must be working really late tonite. Anyway, she told me that indeed they HAVE reworked the posters and now the Sioux will be on top.

I'm not up in GF to experience this myself, though on our last trip for a men's game my buddies and I went and cheered on the women's team. It was a good time. As a Sioux hockey fan, I want to see the men's and women's team succeed. I have a friend who is fairly close to the women's program and a month ago he was expressing his frustration with the direction things are going under Rivard. The above points are pretty much what he had to say as well. He also predicted several members will be quitting the team, and I see from recent posts that's the case. Many times in these situations it's just not "the coach" who is the problem, but probably other things. In this case, however, I'd say it doesn't look like the coach is getting the job done.

I agree. Lets weather the first period and be up by 1 after 2 and then hammer in the nails. Another excellent post, yzerman19. You're having a good week.

The future is uncertain. Let's win one more national championship with the Sioux name and logo on our jerseys on the ice. The future championships we can wear them in the stands instead, if necessary.

Oh come now, they're just getting all the gopher fans ready for future years.

It said be warned, because your friends at Sioux Sports are going to turn on you!

Turned it on at 11:17: Caught Hak talking up Briggs as the best goalie down the stretch, and Ruden from Michigan is an unknown. Then the radio blanked out (old radio here at work) and when I got them back Hak was saying goodbye.

I'd never thought about how much fun it might be to sit behind the visitor's bench.

They should do a quick cut-and-paste and put the Sioux on top of the pyramid this time.

If I was a gopher fan (echo the gratitude that I'm not) I doubt I'd be all that upset about Friday but upset about not responding on Sat. Sure, there were some big mistakes made by the gopher team, but they also showed a ton of heart and resilience to claw their way back. D and goaltending let them down in the end. I realize the faithful say Saturday didn't mean anything, but I just can buy that in this situation. IMO, the landscape on Friday night changed when MN realized how it had let that game get away from them. They had 1 game before the playoffs become life or death to get back on track and they played uninterested and flawed hockey against a good team. Sure, the Holy Cross game will be a practice game for them, but if it was my team, I'd have wanted to see a better effort on Saturday to build some confidence for this week. No, I think Saturday was more important than they let on. Now, next weekend could come and the MN team that played at a very high level this 2nd half might be back, complete with not just an offense, but solid D and solid goaltending. If so, they will be hard to beat, and this weekend will quickly be forgotten. I just don't know if it can be that easy.

The Bertuzzi Cup. Didn't that incident involve both doctors and lawyers?

I don't know what's right or wrong, but here's how I choose to look at it. You know MN is working hard to shore up the weaknesses exposed this past week, and they might fix the boat nicely. Playing Cupcake State on Friday will probably not test those fixes all that much. The Sioux, on the other hand, will be forced to play at a high level in order to win against Michigan. I'm choosing to think that this will force the Sioux to be the sharper knife should they advance to Saturday's game. Doesn't guarentee a win, but maybe it helps give the Sioux a chance against MN.

I would love to see Drew back on the ice but if he is I sure hope he's really ready to go. We've got things working pretty good right now, and if Drew's got a bad wheel it could really hamper that line's ability to be a factor. I'll trust Drew and the coaches to make the right decision, the coaches more than the player. Nothing against Drew. I think most any player is going to try and play if they can, but there's a difference between if they can and if they should. That said, I'm hoping to see Drew out there on Friday because if he can go, he'll really help bring the offense we'll need this weekend.

I dig this analogy.

I had previously said "Let's laugh this off". But if they continued to pass out the posters after being notified of the error, then I see good reason to be ticked off.

Having refs from another league that may call things tighter could be a real thorn in the Sioux side this weekend. Assuming MN and the Sioux can manage their Friday games, the Sioux cannot afford to take a slew of penalties against MN. MN's power play is just too good to give too many chances to, and frankly the Sioux can take too many penalties. They had to kill a lot last year in the NCAA's and I don't know if they can survive the regional in that same situation this year. Hope the boys can continue to play aggressive hockey but stay out of the box.

I was going to say the same thing. Let's be big enough to laugh this one off. Sticks and stones....

I had forgotten my plan on Thursday and Friday, and tried to get Dance Mania screen time on Saturday with no luck. I wore my "I'm Not Hostile And Abusive" t-shirt under my jersey and I was going to go from Jersey to t-shirt for the camera.

I just saw your smiling face up there for just a brief bit. Enough to say that looked like RWTD.
