What's interesting is that Lucia didn't seem to gun for the regular season title this year either. That's what makes this "lack of emotion" even stranger, to me. They won the McNaughton, but did it without trying for it. So how did they get burned out? Before the playoffs one of the things I feared most was that Lucia's teams never lost important games that they SHOULD win. With as good as they were playing I didn't see who would derail them, as they'd pretty much be favored throughout the playoffs. Not sure what happened... Of course, I thought that the SCSU game woke up the Gophers and I was wrong there. But I thought for sure Norton calling them out on a national stage would light their fire. To me, it's shocking how last Friday went down after all.

I guess I should have been a little more clear. My intention was to have this thread focus on the cool things related to our team or games they were in, and not digress into opponents or games we were not involved in.

From watching on TV I didn't think the Sioux had quite the same jump and flow as they did last night. Were the Sioux playing down a little? Or was Holy Cross just a better team than many of us gave them credit for. They did do some very good things. They seemed to clog the front of the net a lot, and they got close on a number of opportunities. You have to give them credit. IMO the final score of tonite's game was NOT indicative of how close this game really was. Curious to hear from the fans in the stands and see what they perceived live.

Wow, BC is on a hot little tear right now. They're getting outstanding goaltending, and they appear to be playing very good hockey overall. They probably remember what we did to them last year, and they know that the Sioux aren't all Paul Bunyans this year, so they're looking for some payback. I would expect this game to be a real battle, and the boys better play better than they did tonite.

Michigan certainly has a unique look to them and I for one appreciate it. I also dig sweaters with big M's on them. I think that's a nifty logo on a jersey. I just prefer to see them hung up in a closet while the "Fighting Sioux" is still parading around on the ice.

I'm one who thinks the UND band is great and adds a lot of good atmosphere to the games. I love having bands at the games.

I did call Senser's in Bloomington and they said they'd have the game on. 80% chance my buddy and I will be heading down there. Will there be many other Sioux fans there or are we all that's left in town?

I live in South Mpls. Last night my son's grade school had an event. A kid showed up wearing his Sioux jersey and hat, so I gave him thumbs up for that. He hoped to get home on time to watch the game. There's an estate sale on the other end of my block today. Just moments ago a woman walked by wearing a Fighting Sioux sweatshirt. How cool!

Yes, I saw you twice. You seemed to know when the camera would be on. I think it was Sodak Sioux Fan who told me that 3 Sioux fans got on tv during the gopher game. 2 guys on the end in Sioux jerseys and the guy in the middle with his I Am Not Hostile And Abusive t-shirt on. I'm glad that got on TV for a nice viewing. I had worn my t-shirt under my jersey to the Final Five hoping to get camera time so I could make my own statement but forgot the first 2 days and got no camera time on Saturday.

Being the Gophs are not in the game tonite it appears that the game will be tape delayed on FSN. That being the case, it would seem ESPNU would be the option to watch the game on a live feed, correct? Are you there, Cheesemover? Will Senser's have this on at 8pm tonite?

I was thinking about this while I watched the game wind down tonite, especially after Oshie's assist on Zajac's goal. At the time the RoTY was announced, I posted on this board that I thought an argument could reasonably be made for either Kessel or Oshie as the RoTY. After watching both of them play the last 2 weekends I have to say that if the voting was done NOW, I believe it would have to be TJ's award. His constant effort is simply amazing, and if you watched the sequence tonite ending with his assist to Zajac you pretty much sum him up. The kid is an absolute animal.

jk, you pretty much said it. Very impressed with the play of Watkins and Lee tonite. Excellent job finishing the game, boys. Way to go. This team looks like it is firing on all cylindars right now, at least offensively. And what can you say about Parise? What a rock he was tonite. The Sioux gave up a ton of shots, and some nice chances, but he got nearly all of them. I don't believe I've ever seen our skill players look "prettier". The way they were dangling and working with the puck was at a level I don't believe I've ever seen. I'm talking almost all the skill guys. Zajac was even throwing the puck off the back of the net to himself in the 3rd. Wow. I would hope we won't see a let down tomorrow, even if the Sioux aren't quite at tonite's level. This seemed to be about as good as they have played yet.

Good. Sioux win that period. Definitely had the better of the chances late. Big break now. The crowd has some time to let down after the big emotional swing of the first game, and the first period of this game. Will they have enough left to keep the team juiced the rest of the way? The Sioux definitely did win that period. Will they be able to bring that same intensity back for the second period? If I remember correctly, a Sioux lead on Michigan after 1 bodes very well, as the Sioux should be a better 3rd period team, and Michigan is a better 1st period team, statistically.
