  1. I know deflections used to count. I'm just not sure I like the change to trying to score by deflecting one in with your skate. I think it could be tough to tell if a deliberate "kicking" motion is used, or whether the player was just getting their foot in position to deflect the puck. For instance, with one of the example videos used I still think it's open to interpretation if the puck was simply redirected or kicked in. I guess maybe I need to see an example of what they would view "kicked in". Maybe that would end up being SO obvious as to render my concern moot.
  2. I still don't know if I like the skate rule. I would think it will be tough at times to know if the puck was redirected off a skate or if it was kicked in. It's one thing if it was a lucky bounce, but I just don't know about allowing the intentional redirection with the foot.
  3. Faxing my app back this afternoon!!!
  4. I'm very much hoping to at least on Friday night. I'd say a good chance but will decide tomorrow.
  5. Greg Johnson fell in my Sioux hockey dark ages. I moved from GF and without the internet it was difficult to stay up on what was going on. I did get to a couple of games where he played, but without knowing much about who was who, really didn't realize what I was watching. I feel like I missed out.
  6. We can take a shot your way any time we want on our board. If your university wants to be hypocritically holier than thou, be prepared to get some back. It happens to be a sensitive time around here.
  7. That's beautiful reading.
  8. That's one thing I love about hunting ND, a chance at some sharptails. I love eating them.
  9. Who's going to shoot 'em for me? Yes, I'm from MN. Our cost/hunting hour is lower here.
  10. Thanks for the info. I have the standard cable package. When I called I found I would need to upgrade to the digital cable package first, which would add about $15/mo, then the Sports Pack for another $5/mo. I'm bummed, but that's the way it goes. Fortunately I have Senser's to fall back on. Thought I'd post this for anyone else who had the same curiousity I did.
  11. Agree. I'm a game time decision. It's pheasant opener.
  12. I, for one, would rather know something good happened. I can manage waiting until the news breaks, especially when we are told it's going to be "soon".
  13. Really? I only saw Friday night's game on an admittedly fair-at-best computer monitor but they didn't give me too much hope.
  14. I know we've read that Oshie might stay 3 years but it's hard to imagine/count on that. Would seem you need a contingency for that for '07 too.
  15. I don't find it objectionable at all. First off, until Malone, it's a pretty small class, with a mix of pedigree. With Malone it's not a big class either: Marto - I think you're looking at potential there, vs a star. Trupp - definitely a top flight recruit LaPoint - a very good recruit Hamilton - transfer from AA. Malone - definitely a top flight recruit I think Malone definitely raises the curve on the class. If the Sioux are after/can get one more top flight forward it should be an excellent class.
  16. I like "The Colbert Line".
  17. I would think MafiaMan would have chimed with with the "Lamplighter" Line as his favorite name by now....Anyone familiar with a certain St. Paul area establishment would get that one.
  18. Right Now = horrible hockey song = my opinion
  19. Looks like Hakstol is still struggling to land high profile recruits.

    Help Malone Out

    I second that.
  21. That is correct. He hung up the skates about a year ago. He works with Ryan Hale.
  22. With 5 brothers I want to know where the other 3 are?
  23. That's a great article on Matt Jones. He sounds like a quality guy. I thought this was interesting. Here he's from Chicago, plays hockey down south, and where does he buy a place? Grand Forks. I would assume his wife might be from the area, but still, it would seem a lot of people would live down south, all things considered.
  24. I kind of dig "The Prairie Fire".
