  1. I wonder what the dynamics are between Prp and Kennedy this weekend.
  2. "...a little obstacle." Wow.
  3. Considering the guy he was traded for played for Manitoba, could Berry have had a part in making this trade happen?
  4. I like SRO tickets at Mariucci. You get a good view of the ice plus you get to stand the whole game, which I prefer. And with the rail in front of you you have something to lean on. Just don't yell too loud, it's hard on the ears of the fogies in front of you. I think they open the doors about 1 hour before the game? Whenever it is I'd get there then, and scout out your desired spot. If you get there close to game time it might be tough to find a good place to stand. The SRO spots are not assigned, so you kind of have to muscle in.
  5. Shack's got more goals at forward than too many of our freshmen forwards that have played forward to this point. And the short lineup seemed to work fine for Lucia on Friday night against Mankato. I'm not going to feel too sorry for the Gophs in these conditions. But you make an interesting point. How important is it for MN to stay out of the box this weekend? Can they afford to burn a lot of energy with certain players killing penalties? I don't know that MN gets into much penalty trouble so this may not be an issue. But with their more physical and edgy style of play this year I would imagine it's a possibility.
  6. jk tried a couple days ago but it just didn't take. Thanks for getting some good hockey talk back in play. I think this series is much more important to the Sioux than the Gophers. The Gophers can afford to lose points and still recover to win the conference. The Sioux need every point to have a shot at postseason play. It's been mentioned the Sioux need to play physical defense. That's not a strong suit for this team. In fact, I'm a little worried how our defensive corp will stand up to the bigger, skilled Gopher forwards. I still think a primary key for the Sioux will be to bring that physical edge to their game, but not lose their discipline. Wasting energy killing penalties takes the best players away from playing offense, and with our offense, the Sioux can't afford that. This game will be played on an Olympic sheet. Maybe no other Sioux team in recent memory is as built to play on this size sheet as this one. Will it matter? We'll see.
  7. Don't you remember a few years ago when Lucia had had some neck surgery and had to wear the brace?
  8. Dude, you might have figured this out by now....but there's a faster way to get there.
  9. There's something that irks me about quoting posts from another board. Why not respond over there?
  10. And I thought Reusse just made that up.
  11. You don't think they're interested in hearing me say that Dean Blais should take over as Commish of the WCHA?
  12. I heard it got pretty ugly. Lucia told Hakstol to quit whining about the refs and Hakstol called Lucia arrogant.
  13. I'm trying to remember but "back in the good old days" I think they played the beer song after every goal. I loved it then, and I love it now.
  14. Besides the fact that the Sioux play of late has provided a reason for optimism, I have clung to this fact as well. Even in some bad years the Sioux have managed to pull one out, I think usually the Friday game (last year being an exception). I'm very much hoping for a split this weekend. I'll be disappointed, but not surprised if the Sioux are swept (considering how this year has gone) but I think it's reasonable to hope for and maybe even expect a split. Sure would like to get one on Friday if possible.
  15. That's pretty crazy. I'd be interested to know what was said and who was around when he said it. If it really was off the air, why would this be a fireable offense? Who was there to hear it? It must have been awfully bad if they would let him go for something he said off-air. Sounds like the WCHA is sensitive about their officials. There's one way to fix that, besides censorship....
  16. Thanks a ton for the highlights! Looks like Chorney's first goal was a woops.
  17. I'd make that trade in a New York minute but I can't believe the Wild would get that lucky, would they? There would have to be more I would think.
  18. I don't know if the Wild have anything of value to trade but I'd love to see Blake with the Wild.
  19. Story in the Strib Wow, change of heart? I guess it's ok when your guy starts it by running the goalie: What, is Frazee playing basketball or football? I shake my head when guys say this.
  20. That's a good point, and let's not forget all the belly-aching from many fans a couple years ago when the change first came to D1.
  21. There must be something to this because, surprisingly, there are even Gopher fans complaining about the refs this weekend. That just doesn't happen.
  22. If a Sioux player was involved, and especially responsible for it, then I can understand the call.
