Let's see what happens if Wheeler or Okposo make a similar play at the John - any chance of a major/GM?

1. I watched much of the Wild v Columbus Sat night - the Wild were very entertaining - they swarmed Columbus most of the night. 2. Are you serious??? If we were lucky it would be only 9-3 after 1 period. Actually it would take about a month of games to put 3 goals behind Backstrom/Harding. If you really think the Wild would not dominate the Sioux, you have no clue how good NHL players are. We had 3-4 players stay that could signed NHL contracts and only 1-2 of them would be playing in the NHL and not the minors. If we played against them and the Wild really cared, it would not be close. 3. Just think of Dean Dachyshyn, only taller.

It's called close puck support - and it happens all the time at the college level and NHL, especially when there is a battle for the puck. Coaches don't mind 3 guys on one side, as long as one player is "above" the puck.

Brother/Dad don't say nice things about UND, from what I'm told.
-
We should include Ryan Walters and Anders Lee as players to get.
-
Trust me, there's not much different in the UND "playbook" than any NHL club, especially with the recent NHL rule changes (no redline for passing). That is why UND players are coveted by NHL teams - UND players are more "NHL ready" than most NCAA players. It's unfair to compare the "excitement" of a pre-season NHL with half the building full versus a typical UND home game.

With some seasoning in the NAHL/USHL, I think Sam Carr from Roseau/Fargo-Moorhead Jets could be a solid WCHA D-man. He had a very good state tourny - I thought he played just as well as Stejskal from GR who went to Dartmouth.

Despite the brawls in the past, I think there is somewhat of a bond between Wisco fans and Sioux fans - I think both fanbases both like to beat the Gophers over any other team.

Fienhage could come next year if Finley leaves early.

Who do we hate more - GWoz or TDon?

Red Black Hawks jersey one of the best uniforms in all of sports.

I think the best "new look" are the Capitals - back to red white and blue.

Elite League - Week 1 results Mattson leading scorer after week one with 8 pts. Gleason tied for 3rd with 6 pts.

We should be in pretty good shape on D. We'll need 3 in 08 with Bina/Chorney/Finley leaving and Blood/Gleeson/Fienhage are/can come in 08/09. Jones will be gone the following year. At the most we need 1 more for 08/09, which would give us 8 D for the 09 season.

The good news for the Sioux is that high end HS players (Mr. Hockey candidates) from the TC are now considering/choosing ND. I think there have been several factors that have opened up this recruiting area for ND. The cliche from Gopher lovers that "UND only recruits Canadians" is officially dead - the success of Bo, ZPar, Stafford, Smaby, etc. has helped in that regard. The new facilities are obviously a factor in recruiting. Coach Eades has also been more involved with USA summer camps, which gives the high end TC kids early exposure to UND. Recent success at the Final 5 (which is another reason to keep it in St. Paul) and 3 F4 in a row hasn't hurt either.
