Ya the HC upset was pretty bad, But me being able witness the Gophers winning Back to Back NCAA Titles!!!!!!!!(is priceless) and the big loss to HC really does not have a big effect on me!!!!!!!!!!!

Goon, I think the Gophers had a goalie named Adam Hauser a few years ago and he also had poor performances in the playoffs!!!! and if I remember right we bounced the Sioux in the 1st round of the WCHA playoffs and then took 2nd in the Final Five!!!! and after that the Gophers went on to win Back to Back NCAA titles with poor Goalies (Weber,Johnson) do you remember that? also the Holy Cross game is in the back of the minds of the player who played in that game......I see a Gopher team that has some real good bounces go there way so far,but we all know the 2nd half of the season is the real test!!! and I think the Don is not going to let them slip like last year... but I really do not think Gopher fans are putting a banner up at the Mariucci just yet we do remember last year or at least I do???lots of hockey left and I know all to well the 2nd half gets real intresting and what will the Gopher do when they do lose a few games and have to battle a lot harder down the stretch... we will see also the Sioux have a whole half of a season to right things.......good luck

Wow this winning streak has all the makings of a big fall for my Gophers....

I know they have not won anything yet but I am a little shocked about how good they have been so far but like we all know there is a hole 2nd half and a lot can happen.....

I was pretty young but I do remeber watching it with my uncle and it was when UMD was a great team!!!! so it must of been 84-85 and the one thing I do remember is no Bulldog players went after him, but I do think he got kicked out because of the cheap hit!!!!!and the score was like 8 to 1 and the game was basically over, I know it did happen I will do some more research and hopefully find out more facts on the game....

0ne of the best cheap shots ever!!!!! is from the 80s during a Badger/UMD game at the DECC when Wisconsons Goalie G.Baxter went crazy and just took a home run swing from behind, with his goalie stick an connected to the back of his head(ouch) I think it was UMDs forward M.Christiansen and it caused him to basicaly have to retire from hockey later on.... because of that hit!!!!! anyone remeber that?

1st off I have to break the horrible news to you people!!!!! I am a Gopher fan!!! Born in Northern Minnesota nothing I can do to change that......Even Captian Obvious could see that I am GOPHER FAN buy my commits!!!! 2nd Hextall is playing for the Green Machine named the Sioux, there is nothing I can do about that either, but I will still enjoy seeing my Hero's son play college hockey even if it's for the Fighting Sioux!!!! ( to me no big deal). how dare Hextall's son play for a great College Hockey program.....his uncle Dennis only played there and with a list of other great NHL players and 7 NCAA titles to show for it why wouldn't Hextall play at UND.... so now that the news has been broken about my being a Gopher fan!!!! please just know this, I do enjoy the college hockey game and I am blessed with haveing nothing but great college hockey teams with great fans and message boards to bragg all about who is better like this site,GPL, UMDs Penalty box ect....please do not ban me just beacaus I am a fan of another team ok.......

I was told by Mr. Ron Hextall that I was nuts!!!!! for naming my son( Hextall David Olson) That was the highlight of my life to meet( Ron Hextall )and have him meet my son last year at the Final 5......

the Sioux Defensmen may not be as scary as two years back when the D were on all the minds of opposing teams...There is no doubt that the Sioux have talent and some size but not like the recent years past. Hey but what do I know I am just a fan with an opinion

1 WISCONSIN (great goaltender and steady defense) low scoring 2 MINNESOTA (solid defense and good depth at forwards) goaltending is a true weakness 3 NORTH DAKOTA ( plenty of scoring and good goaltending) defense may be question mark 4 DENVER (some scoring and good goaltending) defense may take a hit 5 ST.CLOUD (great goaltending good defense) scoring will be harder this year 6 UMD (scoring will be better and possiblity of good goaltending) defense will be tested 7 COLORADO COLLEGE(scoring will still be good and goaltending)defense will struggle 8 MICHIGAN TECH (some scoring decent defense and decent goaltending) still young 9 MANKATO (to may holes to fill) 10 ALASKA (weak)
