  1. Try the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. No Final Five has ever been held at Dane County Coliseum.
  2. Well then you agree with him that losing to Holy Cross had nothing to do with losing the third place game, therefore it was meaningless.
  3. Tell that to Denver in '04. They didn't even make it to the Final Five. Or Wisconsin in '03. They didn't make the Final Five either but they had a good tourney and were one goal away from the Frozen Four. Going into the NCAA's on a roll is nice but it's certainly not essential.
  4. Umm...third place games are meaningless. You play to win titles, not consolation games.
  5. If you think Lucia is the first one to suggest getting rid of the third place game then you've had your head in the sand for the last 15 years.
  6. Wow, you sure read a lot more into my post than was actually there. I never said Toews was a cancer in the lockeroom, in fact he seems like quite the opposite. I'm simply saying that Kessel didn't say anything after the draft that would make it hard for him to be in the Gopher locker room next year like sioux7>5 suggested. Toews and Kessel have said virtually the exact same things since the draft. They have both made it clear that if their teams think they're ready to play in the NHL next year, they will sign. Sioux7>5 said good luck to phil in the lockeroom next year because of his comments so I think the same would apply to Toews. My point is that neither player has said anything to offend their current teammates. The players that play with Kessel and Toews know full well that they will be in the NHL soon and that that is their dream. Why would any Gopher or Sioux player be offended to hear one of them say they would like to sign an NHL contract? And I have no idea why you wrote that last part of your post. I didn't even come close to disrespecting anyone with my post. And since you brought up the topic of favors, why don't you do me one and stop responding to my posts if all you're going to do is misrepresent them.
  7. He's never said anything negative about the Gophers or playing for them. He's just honest and upfront about his dream of playing in the NHL and how he would like it to be sooner rather than later. He's also made it clear that he's in a win-win situation and that going back to the U to "try to win a national championship" would be fine with him. I haven't heard him say anything that would offend his current teammates or the fans. Just because he says he would like to sign doesn't mean he's unhappy with playing college hockey. It simply means that he has a chance to realize his lif long dream of playing in the NHL. Toews has made it very clear that if Chicago wants him in the NHL next year he's there, so I guess you should wish him some good luck with the locker room also huh?
  8. He won't play defense which is pathetic. He's got good size and is a very good skater so there's no reason he should be the defensive liability he is. Hopefully being benched during the playoffs after tying for second on the team in points during the season should wake him up and realize he needs to try harder in his own end. I don't feel one bit sorry for him that he missed the playoffs, it's his own fault.
  9. He's repeating word for word what the moderator said to him a little while ago. He must think it's funny or something.
  10. This post is so stupid I don't even no where to begin. Unbelievable.
  11. Delusional posts like this make me laugh.
  12. What can I say, I'm an easy catch.
  13. It still sounds like he's going to sign. I'm glad I took Sid's column with a grain of salt and didn't fully believe it, otherwise this would be tough to take. It's obvious that he would prefer to sign.
  14. One, maybe two gopher fans predicted the national title. The rest of the entire thread was fans being very level headed basically saying that those predictions right now are irrational and pointless to even talk about. Did you even read the whole thing? I've seen posts here on this board that have basically said the same thing and it doesn't bother me. The elite programs are supposed to contend for it all every year. But if you want to judge an entire fan base by the actions of a few, then go right ahead.
  15. You could say the same thing about Toews and Skille. If Chicago wants them for next season then both will be gone. E. Johnson has wanted to be a Gopher his whole life but if St. Louis wanted him on their team next year he would've signed. It's usually always up to the team. It doesn't mean that Kessel doesn't have love for Gopher hockey. And I highly doubt that Kessel would play one minute in the AHL like you suggested.
  16. Not a thing. I didn't even understand what all those numbers meant.
  17. That post with all the stats predicting where the teams will finish was from a St. Cloud fan, not a Gopher fan.
  18. Like I said, I won't believe it until I hear it from the Bruins or from Phil himself. Charley Walters also said today in his column that Kessel informed the Gopher coaches on Monday that he intends to return this fall. It's certainly not a lock that he's coming back but it sounds a lot better than it did just a few days ago.
  19. I agree with you about Sid when it comes hockey, I don't care or listen to a thing he says. But in this case he isn't actually talking about the game of hockey, he's giving info about a player going pro or not. We can say what we want about Sid but one thing is for sure, the man has sources. I won't fully believe it without further confirmation but I like what I'm hearing so far. Maybe Chicago will take a look at what St. Louis and Boston(hopefully) are doing with their #1 picks and realize Toews should develop for another year at UND.
  20. According to Sid Hartman in tommorrows(6/13) Star Tribune: Gophers assistant hockey coach Mike Guentzel said he was told this week by Phil kessel that the highly touted Gophers freshman will not sign with the Bruins after being drafted in the first round, but will return to Minnesota for his sophomore year. Now I'm paraphrasing but he went on to say that Boston wants him to spend another year in college. Who knows if Sid is right or not. Just a few days ago he said it was just a matter of time before he signs so I don't know what to believe.
  21. Why do Sioux fans feel the need to point out this very obvious fact about themselves?
  22. Why, because he was taken two spots ahead of Kessel so that automatically makes him better? So by that logic, there's no way you can argue Oshie is as good as Kessel(or Wheeler for that matter) because he was taken about 20 spots higher in the draft right? Nice logic. Can we wait until they play at least one game in the NHL before we conclude who will be the better player?
  23. There's no chance of that happening. Any board where 90% of the Sioux posters are consistently ripping a great player like Kessel proves that they have no idea what the word objective even means. Players that are as bad as Sioux fans make Kessel out to be don't get drafted fifth in the NHL.
