I think this will be trend in the near future for the top teams in FCS that head coaches are going to be leaving as soon as possible it's no-win situation for them with transfer portal and NIL money. Your expected to win and now you may recruit the talent to put together winning team and FBS will just come in take that talent with life changing money and portal makes it easy for them to do this but its one-time portal so the chance of stealing player being under-utilized is not happening if you have sit out year.

The last few power schools of FCS are jumping ship with few exceptions like NDSU because of our location and demographics making it hard for them or other Dakota schools to move up to FBS. The Missouri Valley and Big Sky may like i have said may need to form their own FBS conference from the top teams out of both of these conferences or accept what FCS is becoming old Division II of the 70's. College Football is changing and i be surprised near future large number of schools will be looking to drop it because of the above and economics of trying to make yourself competitive is going to be to high.

College football is becoming the USFL played in the fall with slightly more emotional attachment to the teams. Although even the USFL doesn't choose a champion with a beauty contest.

What "lower division"? In DI it's FBS, FCS, or no FB.

Pioneer League (non-scholly)? Sure, but what they save will be taken up by travel.

The "lower division" option is DII with Central and Western Washington.

looks like the voodoo economics of college sports are coming to light.  It's not just those schools. If you're offering the $4.99 rotisserie chicken you better be selling something else as well to make up for it, and most schools aren't.  A reckoning is coming.

  3. I'm wondering when someone is going to really start digging into the financials of all college sports and realize its about as legitimate as FTX.  All this supposed revenue and yet still relying on student fees, institutional aid and massive outside donations.  All the regular student saps that are racking up loans might eventually wonder why they are carrying the mail for "student athletes".  Hopefully the tax man is making sure Uncle Sam gets his cut of the NIL money that is getting thrown around these days. Taxpayers shouldn't be footing the bill to run minor leagues for the NBA and NHL.

From last night, there are ingredients for tonight to get really fiery.  The "sticks up" aspect of yesterday, couple body checks and scrums late in the game, and the early, early bragging rights for NCHC #1.

Would love tonight's penalty mix to favor us again. Giving DU only two PP is part of the recipe for winning.

If it were me, I'd be tempted to do a "stick drop" (mic drop) after scoring a goal, but will happily see what our guys come up with tonight.

Give me the Barry Sanders approach on our goals tonight. We won't have to respond to any of their antics cause they ain't gonna score. I also expect some fisticuffs.

If midco improves their app it would be nice to see them add the NCHC and CCHA.  The money UND gets from NCHC.TV is nice though.  It will be interesting to see how many subscribers ASU brings as well.  Does anyone know when the current CBSSN deal ends?

I expect this will happen soon as part of the Summit/NCHC synergies. I've had no problems with midco sports plus and production far surpasses anything I've seen on ESPN plus.

How many years are you willing to give for a rebuild? Canning the staff would plummet the program. Can everyone at the end of next season if we don’t make a playoff run.

hard to can a staff after a winning record

There is talent, I don't think a new staff necessarily means a long rebuild.  We need to find out if we have a game changer at QB on the current roster.
