Hockey East for sure, and the B!G has become what was expected 10 years ago.

Actually I'd say that NCHC is still pretty solid, just doesn't consume cupcakes at the rate the Big 10 and Hockey East do.  Pairwise can be gamed schedule wise and HEA benefits from being top eastern league.

    Travesty if true.

World’s oldest hockey arena, I believe, and original home of the Boston Bruins.

Glad I was able to watch a game at Mathews.  A real treat, unique venue that just oozed history.

I'll match our Strength of Schedule and our overall depth across the board with them or anyone else.

True, but BU was the last team to hang an actual L on the boys.  Acknowledging they are a real threat doesn't diminish UND in any way.

I just love when you go to inforum.com and it’s all Mick Fooley on the women’s basketball game. No mention of the men’s game anywhere gotta love the whining in Fargo.

Forum Communications devastation of the ND media landscape is criminal.

Never thought this was going to happen. After working so hard to get back up in the pairwise, they could potentially drop out of the top 10

They may fall to 3 tonight with a loss tonight, no further. Game isn't over. Persson has struggled in return to old stomping grounds (not a huge shock) and finishing hasn't been at the stone cold assassin level it was against DU.

    And now it's 4-3.

It's possible that the playoff road to the title goes through Grand Forks (NCHC quarterfinals), St. Paul (NCHC semifinals and championship), Sioux Falls (NCAA Regionals), and then back to St. Paul (NCAA Frozen Four).  That has to be a geographical travel advantage to UND.  Plus, at those venues, the crowds would skew heavily towards UND fans.  Let's do this.

X has bad mojo for me.  Only game I remember is 2011.  Hopefully we can exorcise those demons this April.

Not a better guy within the UND AD over the past 30+ years than Brian.

Gotta agree.  He was the diving coach when I was covering swimming and diving for the Dakota Student.  Bleeds green.

as I was enjoying the Saturday DU win, I couldn't help but think how hard it will be to beat them again when their season is on the line...  I'm never an advocate of loosing but a meaning loss at the conference tournament would be better than a loss in the national tournament...

At least that game wouldn't be on Olympic ice in Colorado this time.

Is it relevant or not that a much better opportunity presented itself that didn't exist 8 days earlier? If he stays this year and then goes to a better opportunity does that somehow make this better or different? I'd feel different about the whole thing if the NDSU job had been open at the time he was hired at UND. But it wasn't, and there was zero indication that there would be a better opportunity elsewhere.

If he was on a one year contact then yes. We want to gives coaches slack because everyone does slimy things, leaving jobs in the middle of a season and the like. Admittedly integrity is in short supply in college athletics but expecting standards you'd expect from some in any other line of work isn't unreasonable.

Absolutely loved the effort tonight.  Best game they have played this year.  Coupled with St Cloud losing in OT to Omaha, Sioux have first place by 2 points.  DU will be hungry for some points tomorrow; let's see how our boys respond.  You have your foot on their neck...now it's time to step down hard.;)

    Let em starve

Are you able to elaborate on that?  This article seems to only be about a naming rights agreement, and the state of ND seems to be involved with the Thread investment and any future investment?  I get where you're coming from, and I wouldn't want to partner with the guy, personally, but I'm not aware of any scandals with him.  What seems shady about this?

I'm surprised that the state, and UND (who is having him as a guest speaker) have bought the hype.  Here is a good report that highlights his background The real (and shocking) story of Kevin O'Leary's business career | Canada's National Observer: Climate News. I've previously read about multiple other lawsuits related to him, it's not too hard to find online.  Just seems like a lot of questionable business practices if not outright fraud, with big promises and little follow through or projects that only benefit himself, not someone I would necessarily want to tie my community's economic reputation too. But maybe it will all work on great and this will get lots of positive attention for GF, and if so that's awesome. Consider me a skeptic.
