  1. Wow, must be an off week. I haven't read this much piss and fire on here since the Sioux/Goofer series. Sad thing is, it's a circular firing ring. Soohockey15, I can empathize, I made the same mistake of calling Radke a hack during the Mich Tech game. So I don
  2. City/State you were born and where you live now? Born in G.F. grew up in Devils Lake, ND. Live in Maple Grove, MN Did you attend UND? 88 - 93 (redshirt for Sioux FB, was told college wasn't a race ) Favorite current sioux player? Oshie and Chorney. Favorite all time sioux player/s? Jim Archibald, Bob Joyce, Phil Sykes, Zach Parise, Jonathon Toews Favorite all time NON sioux WCHA player and team? The St. Cloud State Cullen (I think it was Matt) and Junior Lessard (UMD). I would say Collorado College, like their style, similar to Sioux without the hitting. Are you a season ticket holder? Yup! Have been since the new REA opened.
  3. Good Comedy!!
  4. And to make it worse, I just accidentally listened to the Fat Head Dumbay brag about how the goofer nation held on by the skin of their teeth to beat the landcows 4 - 3 for their FIRST WCHA win. Now all I need is for someone to come in and kick my dog and the night will be completely $hitty.
  5. That's fine, really, until Hak starts calling me for game tips, I'm just like most other folks on the board, just a diehard fan giving his 2 cents. Here's what I was trying to say, look at the lines below, once you get past the 1st line, we don't have a lot of guys that are used to playing 2nd or even 3rd line, and scoring a lot of goals in a season. GENoway doesn't know if he's O or D night to night. Kaip just found his shot, 3 years late. Watkins has always been a role player. 3rd line. Kozek, again, just found his shot, spent a lot of time on grinder lines. Trupp is a freshman, but playing really well. Martens was 4th line or healthy scratch quite a bit last season. 4 line is 2 freshman and a Sophmore with decent, but not great ice time from last season. But that 4th line played GREAT tonight, you could hear it in Hak's comments and TH's. Give those guys time get the feel for the speed of the WCHA and they will score a lot of goals. Same with the othe guys, they are taking on different roles than they are used to and need to mature into those positions. I would agree with you that on paper we have a much older class than in the past, no 15 or 18 Freshman dressing and playing. But they just don't have the same level of experience, yet, but they will and they'll finish with number 8 in '08! Also, Hak and Blaise have totally different styles of playing the schedule, and I think they both work great! Blaise drove his guys, in practice and games, to get that #1 ranking and hold on like grim death. Hak looks to build chemistry and get the right guys playing together and on the same page before they make the run. They both end up in the same place, the Frozen Four, Hak just hasn't gotten his hardware, YET! Just a farm kid from NoDak opinions after watching Sioux Hockey for 25 or 30 years. 16 Ryan Duncan--29 Chris VandeVelde--7 T.J. Oshie 5 Chay Genoway--17 Rylan Kaip--20 Matt Watkins 10 Andrew Kozek--19 Evan Trupp--8 Ryan Martens 22 Brad Malone--11 Darcy Zajac--21 Matt Frattin 6 Zach Jones--4 Taylor Chorney 2 Joe Finley--28 Robbie Bina 25 Jake Marto--3 Derrick LaPoint
  6. I wouldn't sink that far down just yet, this is one hell of a tough schedule and the boys have been on the road a LOT. And after the Junior class "stars" we have a lot of young players and a lot of players that don't have a ton of ice time. Give them some time to settle the lines, get the right guys together and you'll see lightening on ice. The Freshman are going to score a lot of goals for us this year, almost all of them are playing above their WCHA experience level right now and again, it's a hell of a tough schedule. I'd rather have them play these tough games now and struggle. Get the $hit kicked out of them so they know how it feels so when we get to Feb and March, they won't let it happen to them again. We have half tools ready, defense is great and Lammy (even after tonight) is at playoff form in November. We need to work on the PP and our scoring, and that will always take time as well. I seem to remember a Toews kid not exactly burning up the nets the first half of the season, but scoring at will in the second half. Our coaches and players know how to finish at the right time of the season, let's give them a chance to get things figured out and play like the team we know they can be.
  7. You could feel it coming tonight, bound to go down one of these weekends and with no video or TV, LOTS of Sioux fans on tonight.
  8. Still plenty of time left, come on boys!! Let's see a 3rd line rally in the corner and drop one by tool!
  9. It's sad when one of the biggest schools in the BIG 10 does NOT show their nationally ranked hockey team and the engineering students from Michigan Tech have BOTH games broadcast on the net. Guess they're more concerned about drinking. Not that there's ANYTHING wrong with that.
  10. TH is going to blow a nut tonight, he's got the ticker working overtime to compensate for the heaters.
  11. Howdy, Howdy sports fans! Just getting caught up, 14 pages already, sounds like a rerun of the Friday night game at Mich Tech. Lots of shots for the Sioux but none of them going in? I really like to see that Marto LaPoint pairing out there again tonight. Jones keeps taking bad penalties and he might be out of a job. Cracking first barley pop, look for Sioux goal to follow soon.
  12. Well, spent the last half hour reading through all 10 pages and agree with the common group think - he's gone because he's about him and not about the team. Herb Brooks said it best,
  13. I was watching during breaks, I haven't seen the goofs that f'd up in a long time and I've lived in Mpls suburbs for going on 14 years. They were missing the net by 5 feet, consistently. They were playing just cheap as hell, looked more like Mancowtowon State than the goofer nation. Trying to punk up and it just ended up making them look stupid. Faggie was a complete open water bucket, a couple goals he didn't even flinch until it hit the back of the net. They just really looked disorganized and completely out of control. But that's what you get when one of your supposed "leaders" is Flake Wheelerless. He'll always be an assclown in my book for that jersey pop against the Sioux last year. It was fun to watch
  14. If I didn't love college hockey so much, those idiots and that show would drive me from the TV. Similar to watching Michael Irving on the ESPN pre-game show, haven't watched it now for 4 years. Poor Darby Hendrickson, even he's looking at the two other guys begging them to end the torture. Used to like him when he played for the Wild.
  15. What a great complete game!! You could tell the boys came to play, just over a minute left to play and Oshie in front of the net taking guys down for Lammy. Vandevelde is a GREAT fit on that top line with Oshie and Duncan. Wow! They were all over CC in all three zones and with the exception of the last 5 minutes, they didn't get beat to the puck in the corners. Full team effort from everyone! This is just great to see these guys clicking so well this early in the season!! Just keep rolling boys!!!
  16. Lammy with the jumping bicep block! Nice!
  17. Yup! Quick with his stick and really smooth, quick skater.
  18. Sweeney proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that he has NO social life. He just rattled off Joe Friday's badge number from Dragnet. Dude, get laid.
  19. Is Finley going to have a Bina like fire storm on goals this year?!? How great would that be to see him drop 8 or 9 goals and 15 or 20 helpers? That's a sign of good things to come.
  20. Trupp and Frattin - the co-rookies of the year.
  21. Sweeney called it!!! Said the Sioux answered last time! Let's go boys!! Run it up!!
  22. See that cheap shot by Wehrs? Takes the guy down and the lays on top of him so he can throw a couple of cheap shots. Goofer nation is completely out of control right now, playing like a bunch of cake eaters from wayzata when their Mom's late to pick them up after practice.
  23. No, the student section is usually pretty good, they almost always hang in there till the end. They just sound like complete morons with the chants. Another cheap shot by the goofs, I think it was Bickel. They have a really, not in control look and feel to them this year. Really don't have it together yet. Oh well, couldn't happen to a bigger group of dinks! Back to the REAL stuff - SIOUX HOCKEY!!
  24. Just like always!! THE most fickle fans in college hockey. They are so fair weathered their bandwagon comes with a turnstile.
  25. Goofs score with 8 minutes left, 5 - 1 Menver. Flake Wheelless is trying to butch up and throwing some punches. What a wuss that kid is.
