  1. PP over... a few good chances for Russia. USA now getting their chances. Hereing ZP and DS names being called quite a bit. Good shift by ZP, Murray, Werner... Giveaway in the US zone requires a big save by Montoya. 14:20 to go in the first. US giving special attention to Ovechkin for Russia. Suter goes down to block a shot to prevent a Russian goal on a wide open net.
  2. USA-Russia game underway. Russia going on the PP.
  3. Great story. You can always depend on the kindness of strangers...
  4. Disagree.... for some things I think the state needs to pitch in. If not, then only the most populous areas would get any decent infrastructure. Duluth neeeeeeeeeds this arena.... the current facility is ECAC at best. This is the freaking WCHA!
  5. Perhaps... but I gotta agree with Dean, the booing and yelling "shoot" does nothing to help the team.
  6. Those were pretty funny. During the first one I was wondering WTF is he doing? It looks like he's putting on makeup in the sin bin! It wasn't until the 2nd one when he was petting the cat did I realize that this was an REA creation (I was watching on Dataflix, which worked great BTW). Great job whoever thought those up. I also saw a few of the signs... the "Seasons Beatings" sign was awesome.
  7. In the postgame, Dean said that he didn't like the fans booing during the PP because the Sioux weren't taking any shots... just moving the puck around. He said something to the effect that the fans should have a little more faith in that the guys on the ice know what they are doing... they don't need to have the added pressure of hearing the fans boo and taking a shot that perhaps might not be the right one. The Sioux did eventually score on that PP. Not sure how this ties in to what Riverman is talking about... actually, I'm not sure WHAT Riverman is talking about.
  8. It was on the local news in Hartford as well.
  9. Ever since the debacle against BC in the 1999 NCAA's the Sioux have been getting bigger and bigger each year. BC's defense stood the Sioux forwards up at the blue line the entire game as they kept trying to skate the puck into the BC zone instead of shooting it in and mucking it up in the corners... they didn't have the size to do it. You need to have a good combination of size and speed. The Sioux were able to get away with being small and fast in 1997 as Blake, D. Hoogsteen, and Jay Panzer showed the rest of the college hockey world what uncontained speed can do to you. The Sioux were pretty successful with their small fast team in 1998 & 1999 as well. But BC executed a great game plan to neutralize the Sioux's speed. After that I think Dean said to himself "never again".
  10. Hopfully they can get it fixed. I really don't mind a rebuffer now and then (say, onec per period) , but when the game becomes unwatchable it is frustrating... I never did see Colby's second goal last night. I really could be a fantastic product for Sioux fans around the country if they could make the quality a little more constistant. It has worked great for most games, but it hasn't worked so well in two of the last four.
  11. I don't claim to have my thumb on the pulse of how American Indians (Sioux specifically) feel about UND's use of the name and logo. All I can do is say that I wear the logo with great pride... great pride for both the school and the people it represents.
  12. Aside from the first freebie games and the Friday night SCCC game I have had few problems with Dataflix and have been very happy with it. Perhaps this is because I went in to it with realistic expectations (ie, I expected technical difficulties from time to time - we're dealing with computers here... nothing ever goes right 100% of the time). As someone who lives far away from ND, I am very appreciative of being able to watch the games each weekend. Although I was happy listening to the radio broadcast over the net, it does not compare to being able to watch the game. I get as frustrated as anyone else when it rebuffers and freezes up, but to be honest, I have had very few problems... certainly not enough for me to not use the service next year. I agree that it could get better and I think this is the kind of constructive feedback which Dataflix needs in order to improve the service.
  13. "I haven't seen a beating like that since someone put a bannana down my pants and turnd a monkey lose." - Cousin Eddie
  14. How did DU look the first two periods? I've only watched the 3rd and from what I've seen they do not look like a team that could have beat MN at home.
  15. I just went through a whole range of emotions reading the last 4 posts... anger, sadness, cautious optimism, gleeful jubilation. I
  16. There was an article (I think in the Albany, NY papaer) a couple years ago right before the Frozen Four in Albany that featured Mike when he was playing for Albany's AHL club. His roomate at the time was quoted as saying something to the effect that each weekend Mike would eagerly log on to the internet to check on how the Sioux did the night before. Upon finding out that the Soux won he would parade around the house chanting "Sioux, Sioux, Sioux". His generosity and loyalty to UND come as no suprise.
  17. Friday night was horrible... worst I have seen it, but I think they were haveing some technical dificulties at the Ralph. Saturday night it worked great. I've watched every game so far and have been pretty pleased (except for last Saturday night)
  18. The "Kiss Cam" behind the sin bin is hysterical! You guys are too much.
  19. I like the Money Line... refers back to what Blais said about whoever plays with Zach is going to be rich. And pokes a little fun at the whole Bucks situation.
  20. I've wondered the same thing. I have been pretty happy with the performance so far. Some skipping and buffering, but by and large it's been pretty good. It occurred to me that this could be somewhat of a reruiting tool.... parents can watch their son play each weekend no matter how far away they are. Probably not much of an edge, but I would think the coaches would at least mention it.
  21. I liked the Uranus comment... totaly irrelevant. Also the Smells like ass and feet is a good one. Watching the Yale games this past weekend on the internet they showed many of the signs you guys were talking about.... keep up the good work.
  22. OK, I'm not sure why this is working, but if anyone bought the season hockey package from Dataflix for $99, you may be able to get the Football game. I just tried to watch the UND-BC hockey game again from last night (to see if BC was offsides on the 4th goal) and when I clicked on the game it brought up the football game. Hmmmm.
  23. Yes... I believe it is similar to the Lee Goren situation.
  24. Tried calling... got the voice mail of some guy named Denny.
