I think both Trupp and Kozek are immensely talented, but they both need to carry a bigger load on this team. They are both here to score goals; the five points between them is not cutting the mustard. I also thought during the course of Saturday's game that Mario and Davidson were on the ice in case there needed to be a fist fight; losing either of them to a DQ wouldn't be a deal-breaker. As to Eidsness playing every minute from here on out: he is playing much better :understatement: than is Walski, but I don't want to get to crunch time with but one tested goaltender and then have him hurt. Remember that feeling from last season? That horrible "omg-don't-let-jpl-be-hurt-cause-we-got-nothing-else" feeling? I don't want to feel that again.

Boy, you're a real uplifting presence in my life. Oh. And capital letters and perhaps a return or two can be your friends.

Eidsness made some great saves in front of me. Awesome toes a couple times to save sure goals. On Wisconsin's second goal, though, Brad was terribly slow moving from right to left. I'm sure he wishes he had another shot at that one. All in all I thought it was a great team effort. I'm not seeing the hate for LaPoint. There were two freshmen D-men and two sophmores... I think that's asking a little bit too much in this league. Blood's going to be fun to watch. Nice game.

As someone who's smuggled a live chicken into the old Winter Sports Building, this dead badger stunt was just okay.

Before we start sewing banners to hang in The Ralph, one needs to remember last night's game was Manitoba's third in as many nights. Also, the Sioux have pretty much had target practice on the Bison(s) goalie the last few years: 07 the shots were 42-13; 06 37-20; and 05 49-18. The last "real" game Manitoba put up was in 04 when the Sioux outshot the Bison(s) just 24-19 while winning 8-3. I watched on television, so I'm sure I missed a lot of nuances in performance, but there were plenty of encouraging signs. It is early, though, and one has to consider the competition. BU will be a better indication of this team's talent.

^If the 15-pound thing is accurate, I wonder how Evan's speed will be affected. That seems like a lot of weight gained on a not-too-big frame. I'd hate to see his quickness negatively impacted in the name of adding strength. The Sioux need to ramp up their team speed, and I hoped that Trupp was the new prototype forward. I am tired of the cycling, grinding offense that Hak seems to favor. I want some speed merchants out there who will wear down the opposing defense and start lighting the lamp like the days of old.
