  1. Yeah, like "funny, they beat us..."
  2. I'm not going to get into a "solution" discussion. I don't like the kind of offense Hakstol coaches, and I've made that clear in many other posts. I'll go with Al Davis on this one: Just win, baby. I do have an issue with people looking at BCHL scoring and expecting that kind of offensive performance in the WCHA. It just doesn't translate. Never has, never will. Look at the Sioux roster(s) for the last ten years or so.
  3. Never
  4. You truly think this team can score ten goals this weekend? I want some of whatever you're smokin' pal. (And I say that with all due respect. Srsly)
  5. So, how do the Fighting Sioux score goals this weekend in Duluth? The DECC ice is small, making it a whole lot easier for the Dogs to plug up the slot, taking away Duncan and Kozek's go-to shot from the dot. I'm guessing they'll gladly let the Sioux cycle the puck behind the goal and in the corners, but pounce on any centering attempt. (Do we know how to center the puck anymore? ) This team hasn't shown me the ability to break in on a goalie 2-on-1 or 3-on-2. All their nifty little no-look and drop passes have been swatted away harmlessly by back-checkers, and the dreaded (or dreadful) cycle ain't gettin' it done. Where are the goals going to come from? And who's going to step up?
  6. Until this year's Fighting Sioux team figures out how to score goals the dude between the pipes is going to have to be the Player of the Game night in and night out. Look at the stats: through 10 games we've scored 25 goals. That's 9th in the league; only Tech has scored fewer goals. Eidsness and Walski have only given up 3.5 per game, which isn't horrible, but when the guys in front of you are averaging a full goal less than that, the tender has to be "on" every minute of every game. I'm not so concerned about who's trying to keep the other guys' pucks out of our net; I'm worried about this teams inability to score.
  7. Exactly. Maybe the team was distracted when Hak got to the "put it between the dots" part...
  8. I hope they are flight risks.
  9. That's the beauty of the internet: dude can shoot off his mouth and posture as an expert to the world. But as soon as flaws in his position are pointed out, :poof: the thing's gone.
  10. So, what did everyone think of Saturday's game? Haven't we all been down this "student-seating-standing-swearing-TheRalph'sAtmosphereSux" path enough already? Move along; there's nothing here that hasn't been said a thousand times before.
  11. Putting the puck in the slot once in awhile would help immensely; pretty darn tough to score from behind the goal line.
  12. I'd fire him just for that damn ugly green tie.
  13. I think both Trupp and Kozek are immensely talented, but they both need to carry a bigger load on this team. They are both here to score goals; the five points between them is not cutting the mustard. I also thought during the course of Saturday's game that Mario and Davidson were on the ice in case there needed to be a fist fight; losing either of them to a DQ wouldn't be a deal-breaker. As to Eidsness playing every minute from here on out: he is playing much better :understatement: than is Walski, but I don't want to get to crunch time with but one tested goaltender and then have him hurt. Remember that feeling from last season? That horrible "omg-don't-let-jpl-be-hurt-cause-we-got-nothing-else" feeling? I don't want to feel that again.
  14. Boy, you're a real uplifting presence in my life. Oh. And capital letters and perhaps a return or two can be your friends.
  15. Cycle Cycle Cycle Jeebus Christopher I'm sick of this incessant cycling. Give me a speed team. UAA made the home team look like they were wearing cement blocks on their feet.
  16. Another step and this has the makings of a feel-good Disney flick. Way to go, Robbie!
  17. Actually, under my overcoat!!!!!
  18. You people are really old.
  19. Eidsness made some great saves in front of me. Awesome toes a couple times to save sure goals. On Wisconsin's second goal, though, Brad was terribly slow moving from right to left. I'm sure he wishes he had another shot at that one. All in all I thought it was a great team effort. I'm not seeing the hate for LaPoint. There were two freshmen D-men and two sophmores... I think that's asking a little bit too much in this league. Blood's going to be fun to watch. Nice game.
  20. As someone who's smuggled a live chicken into the old Winter Sports Building, this dead badger stunt was just okay.
  21. If only the refs would start calling Obstruction and Holding the way they're supposed too...
  22. (Is that a diesel warming up I hear?)
