  1. If he is a depth guy, then it makes you wonder why Duluth isn’t pulling local guys for their depth then. It very well could be that they would have been more interested if they didn’t already have Johnson. Don’t think we want to dump local guys already in the system to add new ones. Seems to me that guys like Casey Johnson and Simonson took a lot of crap on the message board.
  2. Zach Sandy commits to Duluth.
  3. Two tickets for Friday, 01/07 & Saturday 01/08 vs. Cornell. Section 302A, Row G, on the end UND shoots twice. $25 each ticket, sold in pairs. (701) 330-8439 Brian. Accept PayPal.
  4. Be careful what you wish for. If Western can be as good as they are recruiting to that facility with the atmosphere, what can they do with a shiny new arena. Maybe they will be taking all the first round picks from Michigan because Yost is old and isn't set up like new facilities today.
  5. https://bchl.ca/bc-born-tyson-dyck Would think we would be interested and could help him with his goals.
  6. Do we know if he still wants to go the college route? He may be contemplating Major Junior if he is looking at a one and done college experience.
  7. Would imagine that if interested they would want to see some junior hockey. Ton of guys putting up nice numbers in high school that flame out in juniors. I saw Randklev didn’t have any points with Niagara last time I looked. The one guy I see that puts up points even against good teams in high school is Tyler Hennen for Kittson Central. Have no idea how good he actually is, just noticed his numbers playing with a poor team against some better teams.
  8. I thought I heard that a forfeit doesn’t do anything more than the game not being played. What actually happens in a forfeit situation as far as the records and pairwise are concerned?
  9. If there is an equity problem, it should be why can't people get into the men's hockey games for free if the women's games were free.
  10. That is a great way for a place to go out of business, if there is no word of mouth. I thought they only sold wine.
  11. What does it say about Michigan when they won’t play Western when they still have two first round picks in their lineup and 6 overall draft picks? I guess they need 6 first round guys to be able to compete. Guess Mel treats the rest of his players like chopped liver. Why would someone want to play for that guy?
  12. Would like to see Bast and Johnson get some extended playing time on Saturday, and have the big boys a full go against Cornell.
  13. Is there something in place to prevent this for the NCAA hockey tournament? How are all the college football bowl games getting played?
  14. According to IIHF policies, you have to have 8 teams to be considered as a recognized tournament. There are 10 teams, so if the US is out there isn't much of a margin before this tournament isn't going to be recognized. So do they all of a sudden change testing policies? You would think the way things have been going, other players will test positive.
  15. Maybe Harbaugh will use this strategy so he won’t have to try beat Ohio State back to back years.
  16. You have to wonder if Tech players feel Michigan is sidestepping Western Michigan, and if so, you would think that would fire them up, as I would guess they would feel they are decent themselves. The funny thing is you are coming off of the longest layoff of the season, I would think energy of the remaining players would be high after time to heal bumps and bruises. Of course Michigan has shown they don’t like playing certain teams on the road, and until road wins became a bigger part of pairwise they pretty much wouldn’t stray far from Yost unless they saw odds in their favor.
  17. Who isn’t following the protocols?
  18. If they can cut the quarantine days in half to help with the airline industry problems, why not change the rules on testing asymptomatic people?
  19. Will be interesting to see Schlossman or someone run scenarios at tournament time to see if some teams would be in or out with certain results if that game had been played. Wouldn't surprise me if #1 seeds for the tournament are affected by this game not being played.
  20. Yeah, one has to wonder if he kept the Michigan Tech game because he used to coach there and felt he owed them the game.
  21. If you are going to recruit multiple top end draft prospects, I think I would change my scheduling during World Junior time. Minnesota has done that, and I suspect UND has taken that into consideration more as well. With how tight the pairwise is year in and year out, you would be foolish to continue to schedule games against top opponents during the World Junior time period. That said, if you have already scheduled those games, man up and use it as an opportunity to fight through adversity.
  22. If it isn’t Covid related, then at what point can a team that is in the tourney, but on the bubble cancel a game under the guise of wear and tear, looking to maintain their spot in the pairwise? The NCAA really needs to step in before a bad precedent is set.
  23. To not have Sanderson in the top 5 tells me more about Wodon than it does about anything regarding the Hobey race. Seriously doubt there will be many voters that have some of those guys ahead of Sanderson, unless it is a Monique and Jocelyn Lamoureaux type situation where teams didn't vote for them because of jealousies or pettiness, which is kind of what I get from Wodon.
  24. I agree it is complete insanity. China is operating business as usual while Americans are being punished and lambasted for decisions they make reacting to China's transgressions creating this pandemic.
