  1. I keep thinking Schmaltz and Pearson are going to score a huge goal sometime, but we can only hope that comes in the National Tournament. I don’t think you put either one of them on the power play to get them going though.
  2. But nothing would have happened if Schmaltz would have covered out front instead of doubling up in the corner. Good thing he produces so much on the power play to make up for it (tongue in cheek).
  3. True, but that said, they didn't impress me much at all. BU was skating circles around them, and they just were hoping for an odd man rush every once in a while. Kudos to them, it worked.
  4. Hopefully Taylor doesn’t piss him off!
  5. I get the feeling Sioux Falls has got major defensive issues, as the other goalie gave up 5 goals yesterday and another 6 goals tonight on 10 shots before Heil came in and stopped all 13 shots he faced. It really is hard to know how much these goaltenders are responsible for the goals, or just a combination of poor defense and goaltenders losing focus.
  6. Wisconsin was down 2-0 to Notre Dame, but now up by 3-2 on goals from former Minnesota State players.
  7. Mac Swanson already with a hat trick and three assists after two periods so far tonight.
  8. I'm hoping Omaha doesn't have a ton to play for that last weekend. Of course CC is smelling home ice for the first time in forever, so they will be very tough. I'm hoping that Miami can hand St. Cloud a loss this weekend so we have a little room for error heading to CC.
  9. They didn’t score a lot last year and lost Dominic James, then another faceoff guy in Spicer. If they hold onto Steeves they should rebound next year with those guys coming back, plus the addition of the Plante brothers and Shaugabay.
  10. Let’s get Britt a hat trick. Sounds like it flows.
  11. I thought they could challenge a second time, but would get a penalty if you had already used your timeout.
  12. Why is Kunz no longer fronting the goalie on the power play? Wasn’t that the thing that gave our pp life?
  13. Kind of like it that Blake didn’t celebrate after the goal. I’m sure they are happy they came back, but I like that the expectation is more.
  14. Denver's got to be thinking how unreal UND has been against them on the power play and just hitting the corners period. They put on a display in Denver in the comeback win, and this past weekend they were still lights out!
  15. Will be interesting to see that last weekend who is fighting for home ice and where they sit in the pairwise. Could get an interesting weekend for those on the bubble for both.
  16. If CC makes the tourney it would probably mean they would need to do well against UND and Denver when they play again, or they win the faceoff this year. The next two weekends make or break CC’s chances.
  17. CHN app shows us up to #2 in the pairwise.
  18. It’s what this fanbase does consistently, say how bad of a team we are one weekend, then say we will hang another banner the next. The bottom line is they have to get on a hot power play streak like they are in right now when we hit the tournament games. This weekend just helps us gain the confidence, and hopefully the positioning to make some noise in the postseason.
  19. 7 goals in the first 14 minutes between Wisconsin and Michigan!
  20. There have been many power play goals, and goals period, where the goalie had no chance to see the puck. UND has done a lot better job of doing that this year by guys like Berg and Kunz. Now that they see the results, hopefully it engages them and their teammates to continue to do the dirty things that are the difference between winning and losing, especially in the National tournament.
  21. Needs to improve on finishing if that is going to be the case. If that happens UND is going to be loaded with scoring talent.
  22. But we beat the Bison, and couldn’t beat teams we should have beaten. I get that NIL money is important, but they could have had a step up on the next tier of teams at the very least if they hadn’t crapped the bed after what should have been a momentum win.
  23. It is also a reflection on where he thinks this program can take him under Bubba. If you are looking to advance one more step where do you put your trust, in a program that has been consistent or one that has reached a level but can’t take the next step?
  24. The overtime problems started in Denver, they end with Denver. UND 3-2 in OT.
  25. If UND players hate Denver as much as they let on, this weekend would go a long ways in preventing them from an NCHC conference champion three-peat. Let's put another conference championship on our side of the ledger instead!
