  1. Your last 15 posts have been about how poor UND athletics is and your threads you've started have been about how bad our hockey team was last year and how our scheduling sucks because its wasn't done for next year even though this season hadn't even started yet. Yes, you are complaining and comparing alot. I'd be happy to give you my thoughts through PM but I want to get this thread back on topic. I hope to see our team show improvement this week which shouldn't be hard. A lot fewer mistakes would go a long way. You can't turn it over five times and not move the ball against the QB many have as the 3rd best elgible for the draft this year or 45-0 is what you get. We need to be more phyiscal and get after Northern Illinois. If I see that than I will be happy as I think the outcome will show it.
  2. You are assuming. The only way to compare the teams is to get them on the field at the same time. NDSU hasn't beaten a good team in two years and that includes Kansas. UND hasn't necessarily either besides maybe Cal Poly. Not getting blown out doesn't save jobs (Mussmans or Bohls) and we won't know about the quality of recruits for a few years so only time will tell. I completely disagree with your whole post and think you might have a little bit of the wrong color green in you.
  3. I don't think there are any high school playoffs that day so they shouldn't have to worry about moving the game.
  4. I've actually heard the opposite and there has been no effect and support for the athletic programs has been incredible. They have lost some donors but have gained others. The games are going to go on regardless and the students are still going to get the great education they received before regardless of what the name is. I don't think anyone is sweating it out. P.S.- I find it funny now that people are willing to pull donations now but money for the privately funded lawsuit had to come from pretty much one person.
  5. The blog is great. This is the type of coverage we need.
  6. Step away from the ledge. I know Faison and the coaching staff is working hard on this. Just cause we don't have the schedule filled for the next five years don't jump. Recruiting is going fine, the team is improving. Honestly whats the difference between North Alabama or Western Illinois? Just getting FCS teams on the schedule is important.
  7. Well said Star. It will take a lot of work but I'm confident that next year's schedule will come together. Very rarely are schedules completely more than a year before the season starts. While having 4 games left to schedule is concerning I highly doubt this has been placed on the back burner and some contacts have been made. Getting into a conference is very important though for the future of this will be a yearly thing.
  8. How do they keep increasing thier cheerleading budget?
  9. Thanks for the update Slo. I think the game between UND and Poly will be a good one this year. Our defense is going to be really good and if we can get something from our young receivers we will be much improved on offense. We lost Bamba so that opens the door for our younger receivers to step up and prove themselves. If that happens our team will be very solid. The Great West in general is going to be good. Southern Utah's team has improved so much since UND first played them when we first started our transition. Their coach had a plan to rebuild than and he stuck with it. USD will have a few questions at this year but should be physical like they always are. And as always both California schools are always very athletic and always seem to put solid football teams on the field.
  10. Poly had a lot of good athletes last year. I think they are about right where they are at. I chalk last year up more to a solid conference last year. After UND took it to Poly last year their season spiraled a little bit but they still beat SDSU last year and played Montana pretty tough last season. They return some key players and will be tough next season. I'm looking forward to the game out there this year.
  11. Danno, don't you have your own program to worry about? Are you sure Bohl has everything under control there?
  12. Don't agree with this at all and I think most understand XDSU's objections to this proposal. Both schools are in a very good spot right now.
  13. No offense Hammer cause I really enjoy reading your answers to tough questions on this message board but the only couple people who have taken Stars postings and quoted them as fact have been yourself and JackJD. I believe the whole thing started as a possible scenario of what could be there. He has never stated that is in fact there, he's even admitted to not reading the by laws so no one really knows. While I don't agree with the arguing it has started with someone coming in and claiming he is stating fact when he and us know its a possible scenerio. I think most of us Sioux fans agree more with your thoughts about the Summit and Great West football being run out of the same office but this caught everyone off guard and its kind of fun to discuss.
  14. Everyone on this board knows that nothing for sure is known about the bylaws but its something to discuss regarding this topic. Well, everyone but you, the message board police.
  15. This was also discussed and could be interesting.
  16. I'm sure MPLS knows for sure what is going to happen.
  17. It won't do the WAC any good to invite Montana only to have them (Montana) start dropping programs in a few years because they can't afford them. Or it wouldn't do Montana any good to accept an invitation only to be the conference doormat because they can't afford to fully fund these programs (scholorships, coaches salaries, travel costs, having to recruit more out of state). Those are the things that matter in the end. Also, what type of market would the WAC like to expand into? You seem to think you have all the answers even though you said a few months ago none of these changes where going to happen and if they did it wouldn't trickle down to conferences such as the Big Sky, MVC and possibly Summit League.
  18. Too bad about Bamba. It is good to see a coaching staff though that has no grey area as far a discipline and attitude. This lets the players know that the same rules apply to EVERYONE regarding attitude and discipline. Its important to have everyone pulling in the same direction. Some area schools have different sets of rules for different players depending on how much they contribute and this leads to problems within the program.
  19. If it ever works out with the Big Sky I'd take that for the reasons stated by others plus it fits more into our current recruiting areas.
  20. Why don't they just ask Chapman or other ndsu officials about what their intent was or if they knowingly committed actions they knew where wrong. Oh wait, those responsible have all either tucked their tails and resigned and won't answer questions or they where fired.
  21. That to me would be an ideal situation for UND football. Right in our recruiting area, stick with the common opponents from the past few years.
