I was looking forward to a recruiting weekend but after stepping back and looking at it I don't mind waiting until next weekend. Hopefully get a couple more pieces of the coaching staff in place and let these kids know who they will be playing for. Also give another week to evaluate our needs. Hopefully the recruit in this weekend enjoys his weekend and things get off to a good start.
Our shooters have to shoot against this zone. They aren't even putting up shots. When we get it in the right hands they have to shoot Idaho out of that zone.
I think there were more factors than position coaching going on with that. Offensive playcalling, o-line play, dropped passes, lack of running game, point differentials. I like Danny. Great enthusiasm. I'd be fine keeping him on the staff.
I was just typing up the same type of list. The SiouxFB guys had the hiring brings the defensive staff to 4. I don't know who the 4th is, Myers? Also, defensively last year we had a CB coach and a safety coach so I would assume at least one more full time defensive coach if there is not a 4th out there. Offensively I think you are correct. Also, need to add grad assistants. Plenty of spots left to fill.
I think early in transition the coaching staff targeted the California and Texas type recruits and it failed. We got away from Wisconsin, South Dakota and even North Dakota for awhile. It came around and but us in the ass and I think the staff realized it the last couple years and refocused on those areas. And I think we pulled some talent, everywhere but South Dakota. Need to at least have a presence there.
I agree with your second point. A great place to start would be huge write ups on kids who commit here. High school coach interviews etc. Way behind in that dept.
Who is to say someone with no UND ties would have been a guarantee? Just cause someone doesn't have UND ties, doesn't make them an automatic to succeed. Either scenario we are assuming failure before giving anyone a chance
