YSU has a really good RB that UND will need to stop.

Outside of the FB/TB/TE in Fargo, probably the best in the conference.  Defense needs to be focused.  This game will be a rock fight

  2. One of the best atmospheres in the Alerus I have been at.   Maybe not the loudest but crowd was having fun and into the game at the right times.  Music was good (maybe played a little when we had the ball) but entertaining.  Band was solid as usual.  Great afternoon. UND was solid but can improve so much.

Stay focused next week and prove we can do it on the road.

Per Miller it was Kilty. His normal jersey ripped.

I think they were trying to hold it together with duct tape at the end of the half

They are locked in. It looks like the charter flight just landed about half an hour ago and from what I have been told, they are going east immediately from landing at GFK right past the Red River into Minnesota. They are going to do all their prep work and walk thrus outside of North Dakota. Coach is a little paranoid about prying eyes and isn't messing around this week.

Someone who wants to watch practice will never find them……

  5. Another thing- this stretch of Missouri St.’s schedule is also a grind for them.  Two losses in a row to Arkansas and SDSU.  Than us, SIU and UNI (after a bye).  A loss for them tomorrow puts added importance on their next two.  Really for both teams tomorrow is a must win and we will be facing a very hungry and talented team.  Be there, be loud and help the boys out anyway we can.

Very curious how many will get the Tarzan/Jane reference.

I'm mostly hopeful, but the D scares me this year. As one poster put it, 3 of their TD's involved their player not being touched! How does that happen?

Which makes the lack of playing time of Buckner at safety a head scratcher.   I’ve never seen a practice but from all of Millers write ups during camp he was making plays.  If our secondary is going to get beat with guys who know the defense but just can’t make a play, may as well play the guy who can make a play if he can get into the right spot.  Worse case is we get scored on anyway.

I said it last week, and I will say it again.............

3rd and long is kryptonite to this team.  Holinka's head appears to be spinning.  He may be in over his head.

I would like to know how many yards North Dakota has given up on 3rd down this season.

    Did SIU punt?

At one point SIU was converting 3rd downs at an 80% clip.  That is brutal.

  8. I always think the SIUs coaching staff familiarity with the/our 3-4 puts a lot of pressure on our offense to have to score.

Would love to see Isiah have a game like last year   I think today is Red’s big day and we find another way to win by 4. 34-30

  9. That’s really to bad.   Only going to see more and more of this.  He would have had every opportunity to post numbers this year with teams throwing away from CJ.  Wish him well

Polls really are a complete waste of time at this juncture. UND has huge games coming up against Southern Illinois, Missouri State, South Dakota State and North Dakota State.

UND needs to just win. If UND can do that, polls will take care of themselves.

Having both teams ranked for upcoming home games will go a long ways getting fans to the games.  Would be really nice to be ranked in the top 10/15 when the puck drops.   When you are in the same state as a team consistently in the top 5, not being ranked is not the best look.  So while it’s easy to just say “just win” and the polls take care of themselves, writing them off as meaningless is pretty short sighted for the importance to the casual fan.

Also was told that in the future you will have to be a champion club member to get season tickets.

They may want to be sure the product in the field is consistently meeting expectations before making that change.   I could see more seats opening on the west side of that happens.  You may get some people to slide over but I wouldn’t want to pull too many season tickets holders out of the sections from the 20 in, the Alerus will always have problems filling those.

Do they want more “need a good walk up crowd” for seats to be full?   Don’t make another catwalk decision you can’t go back on.

We have some that don’t want to hear any excuses if we lose. Don’t bring up any of this moral victory junk. Don’t talk about the glass half full. Bottom line.

does anyone see anything ironic when we win?

When we win- The team we beat had zero talent and the only reason they made plays was because of how bad of a team we have.

Nebraska gashed UND on the ground and UNI also scored on a couple long runs. Tough to watch.

UND needs to shore that up.

Corner spot opposite of Siegel is a major concern also.

UND still plays SDSU and NDSU … UND will be playing plenty of good players yet. Raise expectations. This win won’t mean anything if team doesn’t continue to improve.

    Me raise expectations??

yeah, I’d go more with good day

Today showed UND’s future opponents that UND has major defensive issues that need to be corrected

I don’t think many other college QBs we face the rest of the year during the regular season can make the throws that guy for UNI made today.  Huge arm and was pretty accurate.  That will help some.  We also will likely play one other o line as physical as today.  Certainly won’t see a combination of the two.

my thought on today is this win will look really good as the year plays out.  If UNI stays healthy they are a good football team.    They may not get their first win until two weeks from now but could win out the rest of the way
