What grade would you give the Sioux for their outstanding performance during the first half?? I really hope nothing better than a D!

I am absolutely shocked to see and hear such rage and anger directed at certain players. I am sorry to say it, but nobody that posts here has the skills or the talent and know how, how to play hockey at the division 1 level. I understand, that maybe Finely, Lammy, and others have made mistakes - but if this team was winning it would all go by the way side. I am ashamed of many posts on this board degrading players who do nothing else but play hockey and do a pretty darn good job most of the time. I attend ever Sioux home game and can't believe that people can place the blame on losing the hockey game on one or maybe two players, are you not aware that this is a team game, not the TJ Oshie University. I am disgraced by this website's posts of how they think the game should be played, when many have never even played HS hockey. Think before you post - this just a game and these are REAL people who are here to go to school first!!!! They are not here to fullfill your fantasy NHL team. Grow up and welcome to the real world, teams win and lose. We'll be back in the saddle soon enough! Just Remeber Go Sioux

If UND could get Blais back and coach women's hockey - that would be huge for the program and for attendence. This would be a huge turning point in the womens program! Could Buns have something hiding up his sleeve?? It is very exciting to think so!
-
I really enjoyed watch Bishop on the ice, kind of depressing that he is leaving! I had picked this kid to do really well, oh well, maybe next year!
-
Have to agree with Eskimo - The vast hockey knowledge on this board is amazing!! Lee has progressed quite nicely since last year and I would almost expect him to be gone at the end of this year. He is not Greener or Commey. I would compare Lee with Goligoski or Carle.
-
Is the game going to be televised or web casted this weekend??
-
Complaining about attendence on Saturday and poor crowd noise this past weekend - where you watching the game??? Didn't see much to cheer about past the first period on Friday and Saturday, about the last ten minutes of the game....... I guess we could cheer everytime Maine scored in the second period Friday and then continued on into Saturday with Maine scoring the 3 goals in 50 minutes and us 0. Or maybe the fact that our team played like midgets on a sugar high.... Anyway enough ranting last years regional game was by far the loudest either the old ralph or the new ralph have ever been! Hands down!
-
Couldn't agree more! If NDSU was the superior team, I didn't see it. UM- wow if that is what 1A football is, they better start recruiting women from their hockey team. Thought the game was a wash don't really know if anyone would be proud of a game like that. But a lose is a lose and a win is a win-
-
I think it was a mistake to put lammy back in the third, not because how he played but how the team played. We needed to change pretty much everything after the second period, wow, what a smacking! Team play was not there in the second period and beyond, except for Bina- extremely impressed how he responed, throughout this game he lead the line that he was on-only he remembered to lace up his skates. Oshie, is he trying to strong arm his way into victory by himself? Didn't work and caused many many turnovers. do you change everything and hope for a crap shoot, or try to keep some normalacy try to play at least 40 minutes of good hockey? I don't know, hope we don't get swept by a very impressive maine team!!!!

I expect the sioux to be ready to go on Friday, with such a close loss last weekend. I agree with dagies, that the sioux need to establish home ice advantage -since we seem to struggle with that in recent years. Expect friday the Sioux to bring guns blazing with a 4-0 game and saturday to be a nail bitter 1-1. If we sweep I would be surprised, but that's o.k.!

Hope that Bubba can wrangle the boys to sneak one by Omaha. UND needs to show some fire in two weeks and open up on Duluth. We need to start finishing drives and quite relying on a defense that is starting to show some holes. Last weeks game at Omaha was better offensively than it has been in a while, maybe with Manke road tested now we can expect a more complete game! GO SIOUX!!
-
A little off topic - All the games, I can remember, that have been showen on CSTV, when the Sioux are not at home, have the Sioux won??
-
The game Friday will be on CSTV and FSCS (which is FSN from Cheese Country) FSCS is carried my MIDCO and is in the three hundreds. Saturday night is on FSCS only, should be able to pick up that channel on sat. Call your provider?!?!?
-
I wouldn't use Sat night's score as an indicator of what the sioux will be facing! Elliot took the night off and the offense managed to keep up. I expect a very tight series with a split or a sweep (going out on a limb!). Both games will be one goal games, unless Sioux's #1 line puts out some big #'s. If elliot's hot we could have a long painful weekend.

After reading all the babble on this forum topic, lets get back to game and line predictions After watching Bishop - who I think will be a huge surprise this year - in terms of production - I see him line up with Towes or Oshie's line Duncun Toews Vandevelde Oshie Zajac Bishop Kaip Porter Forney - Could get sub. by Miller or Martens Kozak Watkins Fabian Miller Martens Foyt gets to play some more defense with Jones and Finley on the ritz Could be some real fast break hockey unless Hak practiced the team into the ground in 4 days! Sioux sweep
-
With the hype of hockey almost upon us let the bidding began on scores and scorers!!! I predict UND 7 - Mr. Bishop 1, Oshie 2, Toews 1, Duncan 1, Porter 1, and Lee 1 U of Man. 1 - (Sioux get tired by end of 2nd period and feel bad for the opposition!)

Toews Gets no Love in the CHN Pre-season Rankings.

You bring up a good point, with the age factor. It could scare away alot of attention because some feel he may not be all that good yet with the lack of experience. Toews will undoubtly be a huge force this year by putting up huge numbers. Oshie and him together is like peanut butter and jelly - one good combination -

I tend to think this line up is quite impressive, do you realize that Oshie was the only soph to make the 1st team and one of two in for both teams - very impressive. Oshie's play is impressive and attention grabbing stuff, Toews is more subtle, almost like T Zajac - Toews will get his time to shine -
Frazee reminds me of UND's Simbida (Spelling). Expectations were high, maybe too high and the roof came down. I don't know if it is too much pressure or what it is but some goalies never really get going until they are upper classman

One of the two guys who was going to pick up the cost to get it here was just diagnosed with cancer??? - Care to go into details - like whom?

Thanks spell check, I'm sure Hak will use "With the "best college hockey arena in the world" and the fact that UND's most-recent title is now seven years old, I'd say more pressure is on UND to win a title" as motivational tool to get his team going. Look - making the FF is the goal of every team, winning is another. If you consider the past two seasons as failures, better jump ship and change your tattoo to a gopher. " As for last season, with GF hosting a regional, people EXPECTED the Sioux to at least make a second consecutive trip to the Frozen Four" - who? you and the turd in your pants?? Should have put money on the Sioux to advance over the #1 seed of the country.
-
Well according to sources, Lucia is upset with all of his underclassman leaving and is blaming that as the reason for no appearance in the Frozen Four. I don't know if you remember that UM lost to a team called Holly Cross, it may have been the biggest upset in college hockey - UM last year should have had a run in the frozen four. Lucia is in a state that wants hockey champions not failures, if you believe that there is no heat on for him to get together a Frozen Four appearence - time to wake up. UND's last two runs at the championships have been with teams that have been somewhat of a surprise, considering how much talent is lost year by year in coaching and players. #8 will come soon enough. As for Hak, having two runs in the frozen four in his first two years as a head coach is quite a accomplishment. To add to that he also has the McNaughten Cup, not to bad

I think that UW will struggle this year with the lose of the muff diver and three of the top goal getters leaving, though Elliot will keep them together as long as he stays healthy - then throw UW in the garbage 1.-5. UND (depending on how goaltending comes together -UND's biggest weakness- IMO, defense is strong, and returning some potential Hobey finalist), UM(Lucia pet has the heat on to put up a championship this year), , UMD(talent has been pilling up, just needs to gel - could be the surprise of the league this year), St. Clown (last years end of the year run was scarry), and UW 6-10 Anchorage (to far away to matter), Michigan Tech (michigan who), Denver (Carle and the kid from Cally both in my nightmares are finally retired from college hockey), CC (could sterling and sertich be gone?), MSU (if the team can stay out of prison they are capable of playing some strong hockey)

Not to knock ya Walrus, but to make such a statement must warrent some proof, other wise it's just talk, right.

You forgot golf with Joel A., I believe that is on Wednesday, with tales of drinking 2 beers at the parrots cay.
