I realize that...I was quoting the Herald...hence the " " versus "" "". IMO...the overall feel of the article was negative. Perhaps by fault of David Dodds, UND spokepersons or just my grumpy state of mind. Merry Christmas!

This is getting off topic... NACDA - Scoring Structure "Point Determinations Standings for the 2005-06 Sports Academy Directors' Cup will be based upon the size of the bracket. A minimum of five (5) points will be awarded to any team that places 65th or lower. Divisional sports that have a participation percentage of 25 percent or less will receive 50 percent of the points allocated for that bracket. " Which sports receive 50% points allocation (as it relates to UND)? Men's Hockey (?) Women's Hockey Men's Swimming Women's Swimming Men's Hockey gets 50% for a DI/DIII school but apparently 0% under the DII and National Collegiate columns. Women's Hockey gets 50% for all divisions under the National Collegiate column. NACDA - Point Allocation % Considering UND is "penalized" in three of its stronger sports I think a 4th place finish is very good! We need to petition NACDA to include Men's Hockey under the National Collegiate column!

3) NDSU vs UNDII is a "NO WIN" situation for the Bison. If they lose they lose to a DII school. If they win they beat a DII school. BTW...assuming WYOBISONMAN is correct...does anyone else see the irony in this? UND doesn't schedule NDSU as it could have DII playoff implications. NDSU fans repeatedly state this is false. Now NDSU doesn't schedule UND because it could have DI-AA poll ranking/playoff implications? Santa came early this year... I appreciate your honesty WYOBISONMAN.

I heard on the radio this morning that NDSU will be playing Concordia-St. Paul as their ONLY D-II opponent for 2006... Maybe 2007? Maybe never?

I bet you thought the same thing in 2001 and 2004.

I agree...the UND nickname is a community issue. What UND needs for the long-term is tribal approval without attached strings.

All listed members of the Task Force have obvious ties to UND. The only "outsider" I see is Judi Paukert from Xcel Energy. Anyone know more about her?

Why? 1) Fayette, IA - Upper Iowa University Bison fans continually use Upper Iowa University, University of Mary (Bismarck, ND) and the University of Minnesota - Crookston (among others) to illustrate the NEW and UNIMPROVED state of DII football. 2) "Hey--new to the board. Why would you think that UND football is regressing? You guys have been kicking ass for quite a few years now. I know NDSU is in IAA now but besides the former rivalry why do you guys care? Just an outside opinion. You guys could probly compete in the top 10--even top 5 of IAA tomorrow. What's the talk of moving up with your new AD? A UND fan and member of this board (and Bisonville) had earlier this year stated UND could beat most DI-AA teams including the DI-AA elite...given UND's early departure from the playoffs it has become a common sarcastic reply of the Bison faithful. 3) "Why don't UND & NDSU just play each other to satisfy mutual curiosities? Just play. Find out who's best." Or as the Bison faithful say..."Step up or shut up". 4) "I know how regional playoff implications go but has UND ententertained the thought of playing a I'AA team?
