HD, SD, blah, blah, blah...all I know is I live in the twin cities metro and I can watch FSSN every home hockey weekend...my 50" Sony Wega has an excellent picture and my 4 year old thinks Ryan Duncan is the bomb. We watched the Sioux sweep the Gofs again last weekend (via tape) while we played hockey in the living room...what the hell could be better than that?

Long story short, he was recruited to play for UND...during a recruiting visit, after a night of fun, he drew the short straw and ended up behind the wheel to get everyone home...pulled over by the cops, bye-bye scholarship...

Back in the day, we use to say "if you can't bench'em, bring'em home!"... wait, that might be a different kind of elephant...

Anybody ever heard of a guy named Murray Strall? Strale? Sorry, I can't read the last name on the document I have with his name on it. He was a player from Canada; possibly from the Winnipeg area, who was recruited to play at the University of North Dakota at the same time as James Patrick and Gord Sherven. It would have been late seventies, early eighties...If Gino Gasparini is reading this, I'm sure he could tell me... He did not end up playing for the Sioux due to some unfortunate circumstances, but I was just wondering if anyone remembers this guy...sorry, I wish I could make out the last name a little better...

I agree. It's interesting that people talk about the cost of removing the logo but what if the REA says take a hike? What if they don't want to make any changes? When the arena was built, there were no conditions in place that prohibited the use of the Sioux logo. My understanding is that the University does not own the arena (correct me if I'm wrong) so it gets a little sticky when UND comes knocking and says "Hey REA, we have a problem..." This could get real ugly real fast.

Unfortunately, the U does not seem too interested in supporting the name anymore. Of course they are probably spending a lot of their free time working on that new "marketing initiative".

I don't paint with a broad brush and blame the Native Americans. But people like Ron His Horse is Thunder should/will eventually be held accountable for his actions/inactions. By refusing to allow a vote, or acknowledge the results of a vote of his constituents, he will eventually will be kicked to the curb and rightly so.
