I guess I wasn't feeling the love for the Sioux nickname when our administration spoke of 'scrubbing' the name and image from the campus. It's semantics but to me that's not exactly retiring the name with dignity or honoring a proud past...still waiting for that to happen. (but I'm not holding my breath)

Interesting game for the Wild tonite in Edmonton...Parise loses a couple teeth after taking a puck in the mouth...Matt Cooke (douche) takes a pretty good knee on knee hit...couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...Charlie Coyle scores the game winning goal and it is a thing of beauty; if it's not in SportsCenters Top 10 plays of the day then ESPN doesn't know jack-squat!

Attendance for the Friday session is recorded as 14,500 and Saturday's as 14,200 (seems high)...the evening games must have had a lot of people attending because the afternoon games looked to be a bit sparse. Minny not making the final really didnt cause much of a drop off from Friday to Saturday, although had they made the Final a few more Gofer fans may have showed.

The final sore was 17-12? Yeah, not interested.

Their two remaining games at home against tWolverine gives them their best Pairwise opportunity to move up. Of course they have to WIN those games...

They are down but not out with 14 conference games remaining...but they have definitely looked less than impressive lately. Their best bet to make the NCAAs at this point may be to win their conference tourney...not sure they can get an at-large bid playing other Little 6 teams as they are currently sitting at 20 in the Pairwise. Their biggest challenge will be figuring out how to turn this latest slide around. Bucky up next at the Kohl Center, stay tuned.

I think the Mavs had a pretty big cheering section last night and they did not disappoint. Are the organizers of the tourney going to request that the times of the Championship and 3rd place games be flip-flopped? Wouldn't want to confuse the gofer fans by having their team play in the afternoon.
