  1. I attended the final two UND games of the tourney. We looked very good against Henderson. They had a lot of talent but played totally selfish ball. We played good team ball and controlled the game throughout. All of our guys looked good! Last night, we played a bunch of very talented athletes who were well-coached. They were very quick and played great defense. We had a hard time getting our game going offensively due to their quickness. Lindahl and Ryp didn't get a lot of minutes due to foul trouble and the type of game it was. Wells really played well in their absence and Jake played pretty good as well. I think we will have a good season. Watching the players on the floor and on the bench, it appears that everyone gets along well. If we had a 6'6"-6'7" power forward out there with Ryp and Lindahl, we would really be tough. Doyle is going to be a dandy - very talented, very confident! If we stay healthy, it should be a good year. Not sure about winning the conference - Mankato is going to be very tough!
  2. It appears that Ledger is also the "real deal". A tremendous athlete who will contribute right away. I used to play ball against her dad. He was a big, talented guy. I wonder if he has any other younger kids. I am sure they will all be studs or "studesses"!!!
  3. That really great news and I have commenced smiling. Getting Kimbrough is a real coup for the program. The other two recruits are also very talented. The ladies may be filling up the Betty next year!
  4. As previous posts have noted, the men have an offer out to Cory Vernon of Madison. He probably will stay closer to home. I believe an offer is also out to Jeff Probst, a 6'6" forward from Moose Lake, MN. They hope to convince Gunhus to walk on. We have lots of players at the 2 or 3 position. The search for a big man will likely not take place until spring when they know who will be eligible to go DI and who will who need to go DII.
  5. Speaking of Mahmoud, did he ever surface anywhere else? Too bad so many talented athletes end up like him!
  6. Yes, at this point, they do not feel they have a chance at landing a HS big man.

    Bowencamp

Thanks for the post! Bow is truly a class act!
  8. I am quite sure Wills and Blackwell both got full rides. Yes, they have an offer out to Vernon but they are afraid that he will want to play closer to home. They would also like to land Jeff Probst out of Moose Lake!
  9. Wills has committed along with another forward from WS. They have a few more offers out, not sure if they will get any more commitments during the early signing period. Looking at a few different good JC big men who appear interested in UND. Harkins (frosh redshirt) is performing so well in practice that they considered playing him this year but they will not do so. Having him and Doyle in the backcourt for the next few years should definitely be a plus.
  10. Who was at the game last night? How did we look? It appears that Swan isn't gonig to have the immediate impact I had hoped he would!
  11. If what you are saying is fact, Roger absolutely should know. It is your responsibility as a member of the team and for the good of the program and the University to inform him of this. Good luck!
  12. I don't think we are getting "homered" - just out of position a couple of times. It looks like a typical early season game - neither team is all that smooth yet!\ Parise has made some great stops!
  13. As was stated, there was some question about how good of a college hockey player Grant would be (obviously, he turned out to be a dandy!). It was my understanding that UM recruited him for two reasons: 1) To land someone from out-of-state and from UND's back yard. 2) More importantly, they thought Ryan was going to be a superstar and assumed they would have a much better chance of getting him if they already had Grant. Can anyone confirm that theory?
  14. Kupe - I agree - your son is doing a great job for us! A year or so ago, you indicated that you have another younger son or two who were likely to be pretty good FB players. What are the chances of seeing another Kuper at UND in the next few years? Also, do you know if the Sioux tried to recruit anyone else from Alaska last year? This upcoming year?

    Bowenkamp

I have learned from a reliable source that Bowenkamp's injury may be more serious than first thought. The tear of a muscle under his throwing arm isn't healing well. Does anyone know how many reps Manke is getting in practice compared with Belmore? I am curious how soon they may pull Belmore if he doesn't play well against St. Cloud.

    It is working great tonight!
  17. The Bison offered Pennick a full ride a couple of weeks ago. He is giving them serious consideration. This may be one of the first cases where a local player will choose SU due to the opportunity to play DI ball.
  18. I don't know how to post a website here but check out #s 3, 6 and 11 - some definite talent!
  19. Absolutely - there are quite a few good looking girls on that team!

I agree - classy teams and coaches with class (as UND and Lennon have proven to be over the years), don't do things like that! Did CW do anything similar a couple of years ago when they demolished us at the Al? I suppose it could have been "pay back".
