I received the following e-mail from REA today. I am sure everyone else who attempted to watch FB or hockey last weekend received it as well. Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties that did not allow us to distribute these games. These technical difficulties have now been corrected and we will be able to provide the next regularly scheduled live webcast on Friday, October 14, 2005 when the Fighting Sioux Men's Hockey team squares off with Northeastern at 7:37 PM CST. You will receive a refund for the games which you did not have an opportunity to view over the weekend. Single game purchasers will receive a full refund in the amount of the $8.95 that was paid for a single game. Subscribers who purchased the full-season hockey package for $69.99 will receive a refund of $3.50 for the hockey game that was not received on Sunday. The full-season hockey package includes all 20 men's home games and the rate per game is $3.50 on a pro-rated basis. I don't believe anyone picked up the broadcast. I would assume that we won't be charged. I have e-mailed them - not gotten a response yet!

Whether NDSU made the right decision or not (as I have said before, I think it was the right decision for football but probably disasterous for all other sports with the possible exception of wrestling), the fact does remain that they are ramping up their scholarship limits (already there in FB). It will take time for UND to catch up when it comes to scholarships/scheduling, etc. It is a given that we could not go to full funding of all allowed scholarships for all sports immediately. In fact, we may have to take an approach more similar to SDSU - ramping up a few more each year. Bottom line - I firmly believe that UND is making the right decision in waiting but nobody should assume that we will be right there with NDSU as far as quality of programs shortly after we would make the move. We would be substantially behind our neighbors to the South.

Has anyone heard from them yet? Are we getting a refund for last Saturday's game?
