The Herald is reporting this morning that Jenna Gillett, a junior from Dakota Prairie, has committed to play BB for the Sioux. I know coach Roebuck has been looking at her for a long time. From what I understand she may be somewhat of a project but she has a great deal of potential.

Yes, both SDSU and NDSU teams are eligible for the NIT. The SDSU women and the Bison men would both like to make that field. With all the "name" teams the Jacks have beaten, I would think their women have a very good chance. The Bison men have played a lot of "names" very tough, but lost. They may still have a chance. You are correct - this is something that UND teams could strive for during the first few years.

Per the NCC website, both UND/USD BB games tomorrow night can be viewed via that site. Does anyone know if that if fact?

Per the MinnesotaPreps website, a JUCO nose guard just committed to UND. It did not give a name.

We sure let one slip away tonight. We led the vast majority of the game but just couldn't close it out. We will have to learn to do so if we expect to be competitive at all in the NCC!

You would think that the UND coaching staff must be pleased with their recruiting efforts thus far. We are five weeks away from the signing date and we have at least nine commitments. I would think that any recruit offered a scholarship this early in the process must be a pretty darn good prospect. Anyone have an insight into how the staff feels recruiting is progressing?

On the Wisconsin Preps website, I learned of a few players UND has been looking at. I have no idea whether they have received offers from us. I would think that he would sit out the year. He really hasn't run in months so he has to be weeks away from being in condition to play. He has talent, we would be much better giving him the full year to recover and hope he can contribute at a major level for the next three years.

In many recent years (including this year) about this time, UND's swimming teams are ranked 1st or 2nd in the country. Yet, we normally finish 3rd-5th at the end of the season - often a long ways behind the champion. Any idea why we are consistently ranked so high early in the season? Please don't take this question to infer that I am disappointed that we can't win the NCAA title. Our swimming and diving teams do a great job - especially considering our northern, rather remote location!

I appreciate your candid and unbiased thoughts about the game and the two teams.
