As am I. But I suppose they have a former Sioux and Badger eating up any salary that they'd have for Kessel!
-
Agreed, but DaveK will be happy. Toronto has to be elated to get rid of Kessel. Good luck, Pittsburgh.
-
That actually came from another NHL GM, not from the Bruins...
-
Kessel to Pittsburgh in a big trade. Pittsburgh gets: Phil Kessel Tyler Biggs Tim Erixon 2016 2nd round pick Toronto gets: Kasperi Kapanen Scott Harrington Nick Spaling 1st round pick 2016 3rd round pick 2016 Leafs retain $1.25 M/yr of Kessel's salary

Yes, it sounds like there was more to the story, and maybe Sweeney's hands were tied. In Hamilton's press conference in Calgary he was asked about him leaving Boston and he didn't want to comment about it. Another reporter then gave him the change to shoot down rumors that he wanted out, and he wouldn't comment. I would have hoped that Sweeney would have shopped him around a bit more to see what else he could have gotten, but it looks like he may have been handcuffed a bit on this.

Rumblings of Oshie possibly ending up with the Islanders?
-
Granlund re-signs with Minn for 2 years, $6M Sounds like the Penguins are putting major pressure on the Leafs for Kessel
-
Here would be another one. It'd be interesting to see how close these 2 are if you have time to do some comparing: http://nhlnumbers.com/

That's a good fit and good contract for both sides.

I agree 100%. Sweeney ended up making a good situation out of the Lucic deal. I wasn't too happy with it at first, but it's been rumored for a couple years that he might be traded. For what he ended up getting for Lucic in the end, that's a good deal. The Hamilton trade on the other hand, and how the draft unfolded with picks 13, 14 and 15...........UGH!
-
So essentially for Lucic the Bruins got 2 first round picks (1 from LAK and 1 from SJ) and 2 prospects (Miller from LAK and Kuraly from SJ). I can live with that.
-
Sweeney has repeatedly (and emphatically) denied ever shopping Rask (and I hope that's true).
-
Yes, good move by Sweeney...however, he still has a ways to go to recover from last weekend's disaster...
-
He gave up a 3rd round pick for him (not 2nd) but still...horrible, horrible trade for a horrible player. I also saw that Rinaldo has been suspended for almost as many games as he's actually played in. I have a feeling there are going to be future conversations on SiouxSports.com about the "goons" from Boston involving Rinaldo, and there is no way that I'll defend that guy. Just awful.
-
I think Don Sweeney has lost his mind.
-
Yeah, this weekend was nothing short of a disaster. I'm currently self-medicating after watching Don Sweeney totally F up. But I don't want to hijack this thread...I would certainly be more than happy to vent about this and discuss in the NHL threads in the Non-Collegiate Sports section.

I vote we go back to this.

How true. That was the beginning of it all...and that was under Chiarelli. I just don't know what to think anymore! I went from thinking that missing the playoffs last year (barely) would be a blip on the radar to now thinking that it might be a few years till they make it back.
-
As the events unfolded yesterday I had friends constantly checking in on me to make sure I wasn't physically harming myself. Have I mentioned before that the Bruins should have never gotten rid of Chiarelli?
-
I just can't take much stock in any list that has Sundogs higher than Roughriders. Not saying that Roughriders has to be #1, but how the heck can Sundogs be anything other than #7 on a list of these 7 names?
-
My ideal option is a 10:00 overtime with the first 5:00 of 4 on 4 hockey. The first whistle after the 5:00 mark they then go to 3 on 3.
-
Yes, another option there. I was thinking about moving Calgary to the Central to put LV in the Pacific, but they'd want to keep Calgary and Edmonton in the same conference - so moving both might work.
-
Move Arizona to the Central Division and add Las Vegas and Seattle to the Pacific. You'd then have 16 teams in each conference and 8 teams in each division.

And he played for UND as wel.......umm....nevermind... #reddeerproud #bisonsproud
