  1. I doubt it. He thinks he owns that section. You get a piece of his mind if you say anything to him about his attitude.
  2. I sit in section ### at The Ralph and sometimes I wonder why some so called "fans" even come to the games. There is a guy that constantly gripes about our D. It is so bad that I don't think he even enjoys being there. Yet he has been a season ticket holder for years. The first year we sat in this section it was "get him off the ice" Lundbohm, then Schneider, Prpich, Green, Smaby, now "go hit him" Lee and "that big pussy" Finley. If I give my tickets away I have to warn those that get them to be ready for the abuse. This guy also never stays for a whole game, no matter what the score is. He will leave after the first period if the team is not playing to his satisfaction. It is so negative that I wondered at first who's side this guy was on (and that is just my section). I think the guys that grow up playing hockey can take the smack, but I do get tired of hearing it as a fan. I wish the world was more postitive and less negative and that pretty little flowers grew everywhere. Is that what hockey is? Yelling and name calling and disrespect? I see it on this board all the time as well. D-men seem to do best when they are juniors and seniors (if they last that long). Give Brian Lee and Joe Finley a chance. Maybe it is all the griping here and at the rink that bring them to their game. If so, bring it on.
  3. Graham James According to Sheldon Kennedy on his appearance on The Jim Rome Show on November 14, 2006, James fled to Europe after he was released from prison, and still coaches youth hockey there.
  4. They look sharp, and we have been wining in them, but thats more so because we have talented players and the bounces have been going our way since Christmas. The only thing I don't like about them is that they don't fit very well around the neck. It could be that the fabric just doesn't stretch right.
  5. I've been wearing the same pink underwear since Christmas (unwashed) every day and it seems to be helping the team. Just kidding. I have no superstitions that I will confess to.

    It's Hockey

Yeah, I missed it too. Sorry about the repeat. I have been too busy getting ready to go on hockey trips to read all of the posts here.
  7. Clark, the Canadian Hockey Goalie I got this link from someone at work. It's great!
  8. My Gopher friend from the Final Five sent me this today.. This kid is a senior in high school. I thought it was very mature of him to say this. These are the nicest Gophers I know! It puts the ones who told me we suck as we walked to the Xcel Center to shame.
  9. The Arch was fun when I went. It is something you have to do once when you visit St. Louis. Before you go up, there is a movie that shows the history of building it and also a museum is housed all under the Arch. I think we spent about an hour doing things like that before we actually got in line to ride to the top. The movie kinda freaked me out because it made me realize how massive the thing was and how much went into building it and all the danger involved. I was with 6 high school kids and I had to talk them into still going after watching the movie. But once you get into the little car that brings you up, it moves slowly and was not a big deal. The view of the city is through a tiny window, but its a neat view in which you will see all the stadiums and domes and other pretty buildings of the downtown area. There is also the Botanical Gardens if you are into that sort of thing. Gotta go to the Budweiser Brewery. We hit the Miller one last year and found out you have to get there really early to get in because of all the beer drinking hockey fans. I guess beer and hockey go together! The Laclede's Landing area of downtown is neat. It is old warehouses that have been made into unique restaurants and breweries and is close to the river. Just stay away from East St. Louis. It is a dangerous part of the area, both day and night.
  10. Sorry you have to put up with that, but it does go both ways. The second thing I did after the win was email my little buddy from MN, that I met at the first Final Five we went to, and congratulate him on a great game. The first thing I did was reply to the text message my daughter in St. Paul sent me. Her message was "YAY!!! Go Sioux Sioux!" My reply was "Whew!" It really could have gone either way. My heart got a workout for about 3 hours! It is too bad that poor sports live among us, but that's how sportsmanship has gone in that last several years. My 3rd trip to the Frozen Four and the team has found it's way there each year! Yeah! And congrats to all the Gopher fans and team on a great game.
  11. Still 0-0 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd.
  12. Those announcers get so excited when someone ALMOST scores. Its nice to be getting ready to deploy IPTV and get to watch it at work. I just wish it were more exciting.
  13. Didn't Quinn Fylling leave for a year to get stronger and then come back the next year and play his heart out?
  14. Another couple is going to the Frozen Four with us and needs tickets. Anyone have any to sell? That would be 2 tickets together for games on Thursday and Saturday.
  15. We got ours today too. Section 331, Row A. Better than the last 2 years where we were in the second to the last row both years. Now the team best come with us again. Go SIOUX!
  16. I got to go to the Budweiser Shootout in Daytona for my Valentine's Day. It was ALMOST as much fun as Sioux hockey.

    Booooooo

We had fun too. I was just jealous that I can't stay up all night long anymore!

I noticed that too. I didn't ask them why. I just know they didn't get much sleep all weekend.

We stayed on the same hotel floor as the Sioux Cheer Team and a couple of them told us that they were treated very poorly by Gopher fans. I really don't think that type of harrassment is necessary. Period. A little bit of razzing back and forth, on the other hand, is fun.

It's because they realize that hockey is a team sport! They always celebrate the way laupsided just stated.

I have noticed that Lammy skates way outside the net too now when he makes a glove save after he was plowed down by that Mankato player in the playoffs. He was down and not moving for a LONG time.

    Booooooo

I hope UND fans have more class than to boo the opposing team's players. It bugged me when Lammy's name was announced as having been chosen for the All Tournament Team at the Final Five this weekend and the MN fans "boo-ed" so loudly that we could hardly hear ourselves cheer for him. We clapped for ALL of the players when their names were announced, but I looked around and saw very little of that happening from MN fans. I have never heard so much booing in all my life. We sit in the same place every year and the father/son from MN behind us have so much class. We meet them at the Final Five and Frozen Four yearly and this year even exchanged email addresses so we can keep in touch. On the other hand, some woman sitting beside me for only the MN/W game was horrible. She yelled at the ref, the MN players, the Wisconsin players, the fans.. nothing was positive, she was all about negative in her loud blond bimbo voice. She barely knew the game of hockey but it didn't keep her from "commenting" on every play for all of us sitting near her. I just hope UND fans don't resort to this lack of respect for a group of young talented men showing up to play a great game of hockey. It is just too bad that fans have to put up with this year after year when we go to St. Paul. A little razzing back and forth is fine, but all the "suck" and "boo" is just childish. Let's UND be the classiest fans in all of college hockey!
  23. I am going to this party (SHF was our flowergirl)! We took a cab a few times and it was about $10 for 4-5 of us. That's better than having to repark the car. Here is a link to the Bars & Grills and Restaurants or Breweries for those of you who are looking. The Final Five and St Patrick's Day is always a good time in St Paul. You can find us in front of the Gopher fan friends we have made over the years in section 108 row 6. Yeah, there are some decent Gopher fans... but not a whole lot of 'em unfortunately.
