  1. It can only be base on speculation that either the Gophers are a #1, or if the Sioux don't make the tourney. I think the Gophers will be the #1 in GF, #2 overall seed. But I'm optimistic.
  2. How are we Gophers fans supposed to recognize you without your Maine hat?
  3. Don't get your hopes up, if you want the Gophers eliminated before the Frozen Four I think it will be your boys who have to do it. This weekend will tell a lot about the Gophers and CC.
  4. Right now I'd just like to see the Gophers finish 2nd or 3rd in the league and make the Final Five championship game. That would likely be enough to be a #1 seed. I don't see a great advantage going to the east or to the west. It's still going to be a tough quarter final no matter how you slice it. My biggest fear the Gophers and UND both finish as 2/3 seeds and the Gophers get sent to Green Bay. I don't like the idea of having a tough 1st round game then facing the Badgers. We will know alot more about how good the Gophers are after this weekend. I'm guessing the winner of the season series between the Gophers and CC will be the #1 in GF.
  5. UND fans should root against Fairbanks, BC, DU, Mich State, Harvard and SCSU. These are comparisons that UND is currently losing or comparisons that are VERY close right now. UND is not in bad position and if they can play over 0.500 hockey to close the season I think they will be a tourney team relatively easily.
  6. I thought if you were liberal you hated America? Right? Too bad we can't get a conservative in office. Oh well maybe in '08.
  7. Your right on I'm sure. Bemidji winning the CHA would help the Sioux a bunch at the end of the year.
  8. This was the difference in the game. They got distracted by Prpich and didn't have the focus they had the previous three victories.
  9. It's perfect where it is. I just had not found it. I think UND losing three comparisons had more to do with a couple of their close comparisons like BC and SCSU tipping for a week. UND's RPI didn't get hurt and actually went from 9th to 8th. With RPI being the most important component outside of H2H in PWR, I don't think UND is in bad position if they play well (getting eight or nine WCHA wins including 1st round playoff wins) down the stretch I think they will make the field relatively easily. UND fans should root against Fairbanks, BC, DU, Mich State, Harvard and SCSU. Especially if they are playing some UND has played or a TUC.
  10. Any chance you are willing to add a link on the Hockey Home page with the other PWR/RPI tools?
  11. 36 points puts a team right on the bubble for 3rd. The last three years it would have been good for 3rd, the three prior it would not have. Asking an 8-8 team to go 10-2 down the stretch seems a little much, but if they do they will have earned it. I suspect the Sioux will easily finish with home ice, but I don't see them passing two of the UM/CC/DU group to gain third.
  12. Why wait until next year? I'm starting to get very confident there will be a NCAA quarter final matchup this spring. I'm pretty sure whoever wins the season series between the Gophers and CC will likely be the #1 seed in GF for the regional.
  13. I think they cut the entire security budget this year. For years there has been yellow coated ushers that prevent people from walking down during play and who would quickly check on people struck by pucks. I don't remember seeing them at all this year. My guess is the "U" decided to try saving the $60 per usher X 30 ushers X 23 home games. It's was an embarassing, but I'm guessing they yellow coats will be back this weekend.
  14. If it makes you feel better I don't thing UW got a mention when they beat us 4-0. It's a running joke for them.
  15. You certainly can do that, but you don't really strike me as that type of person.
  16. It requires a delicate balance and I'm on the old man side of the equation now. I go to the games for the hockey and if it has a great atmosphere fine. Otherwise I'll just appreciate the players and the game. The Ralph appears to have too much security for many, Mariucci clearly hasn't often needed tighter security but this weekend it was needed and it was embarassing. I simply can not believe they through pops on the ice and I don't care what Lamoroux was doing. We've had tough losses and obnoxious opponents many times in the past and it didn't come to this. More disturbing was the absolute absence of the dreaded yellow coats taking seat numbers or even trying to punish those throwing crap. Combined with UND players actually having to provide security Friday it was a horrible finish for the first weekend that the Gophers really played six good periods of hockey.
  17. I don't recall the last time I considered a UND win an upset. It just doesn't work that way for you guys. The BC game last year was surprising due the ease of the win, but there can't be that many west of the Great Lakes who were actually surprised.
  18. The Gophs got shown what happens if you don't finish your chances. I really had mixed thoughts on this game. I really wanted the four game sweep and the thought of the Gophs in a Grand Forks regional without UND is appealing, but I really didn't want the Gophs going into the regional final with UND thinking they owned those guys either. Last nights game was much better but there are still a lot of questions on both benches if you ask me.
  19. Well you all are in better mood tonight! The students were embarassing all weekend. The Gophers got careless forgetting that a tie is FAR better than a loss and let it slip away. Beautiful shot for the game winner though.
  20. We may have the most "classless" fans, but I promise you we also have the most "classy" fans.
  21. How many Kessel interviews/press conferences have you seen since then? I haven't seen anything but between period spots. Not even a quote in the paper.
  22. I'm embarassed as a Gopher fan that someone would create it. If it actually took UND players to go remove the sign it's even worse. I was at the game about 20 minutes before the puck dropped and I didn't see the sign so hopefully whoever created it was escorted out very quickly.
  23. The guys that are doing complete statistical database for baseball have had teams of people go to libraries and examine old newspapers on microfiche for each individual game record. I would believe you could do this and get UND hockey stats back quite a ways. Hard to say when the hockey box score became popular though.
  24. Goon you of all people should be a big "personal accountability" guy or are you going to be like todays leaders and apply it simply when it's convenient? People (halo wearing UND fans included) ate Grant P. for lunch for a something similar St. Cloud a few years back. Guys get frustrated and whether or not it was intentional, it was a careless play. I'm sure Phillipe is a classy kid and probably regrets it. If Hakstol thought it was intentional, I'm SURE he will regret it.
  25. That was weird for two reasons. First he basically was taking a large risk that he'd saucer it right into the UND family/friends section. He ended up clearing them and getting it into the corpies. They don't ever cheer, let alone raz a goalie. I'm going to assume that was completely out of character for him.
