I think Miami is a much tougher matchup for the Gophers than BC. Not that BC will be easy, but they like to skate and take their chances and give you your chances. The Gophers should have a shot in that type of game primarily due to Kangas. If Miami gets ahead they will use their size and goaltending to shut the Gophers down. Very similar to Denver who gave up a lot of shots in the 3rd, but only a couple of really good chances. The Sioux have a tough regional, but overall a very good draw. Wisconsin has been up and down obviously all season. I think they have a great shot at knocking out DU, but will come up flat vs. UND/Princeon if they get there. The Sioux (and the Gophers) will only have to go through one of Michigan/CC/UNH who I thought were the best three teams in the country for most of the season.

You must have really hated us the rest of the season. I'm guessing the first team to score twice will win in any tourney games the Gophers play in.

Thanks to all the SiouxSports players who played. 3-2 midway through the game, but eventually having three sets of lines wore them out.

In the past they have compared bubble teams amongst themselves and that would put MSU and Notre Dame in. I don't think they will go down that road this year though with the Bucky at situation.

In the past they used to throw out comparisons vs. meaningless teams (Northern Michigan) when comparing bubble teams. I'm guessing they will stick with straight PWR and that UW is in and well rested to make a run. Hopefully only a one game run.

You guys have seen how the Gophers perform in the 3rd place game after playing the late semi-final. Expect more of the same from CC. If the Sioux can get two by Bachman I think they win. I'm guessing the NCAA will figure out a way to get the Sioux and CC in the springs, unless putting DU and CC there is more convenient.

UW getting in will cause the committee to re-examine their seeding criteria. That is almost enough to make me want them in the tourney, but not quite.

My first thought after seeing it was that Lucia lost it because he thought Kalinski had scored and it was a blatant cheap shot. Had Lucia gone after Kalinski I'm guessing Shep would have given coincidentals as well.

I wish the caller who made the point about football being more violent than hockey wasn't so ignorant. The Miami/FIU, South Carolina/Clemson and even Dartmouth/Holy Cross football brawls were likely far worse than any UM/UND scuffling.

If Bucky hoops is in the sweet sixteen few if any will even realize their hockey team didn't make the tourney. I'd bet nobody is refused at $15 per ticket.

It was mostly Kalinski. He went hard into Kangas three times. I won't suprise me a bit if there is retaliation next year.

The game was pretty amazing. After the game was tied in the third period I had it as three posts a piece for the Gophers and MSU. Shep had some weird moments but if neither coach complained after Saturday he must have been OK. Shep had the wierd too many men call in OT Friday. I really thought he'd make them play 4x4 last night when Lucia crosschecked the MSU player behind the net after Kangas got ran by Kalinski again. Instead MSU got their OT PP. After that the whistle was swallowed and multiple infractions went uncalled both ways. Both teams were gassed after Friday and there was little to no after the whistle issues Saturday or Sunday. I'm guessing due to exhaustion.

The Hockey East playoffs will have either BU or Vermont playing for an autobid. If Northern Michigan somehow stuns the CCHA we could be looking at top 11.

We don't show up for play in games, Friday afternoon games or third place games. Shep got to ref because nobody complained about him. MSU had three OT pipes and the only OT PP. I'm thinking it could have gone either way.
