If I'm not mistaken, this is the first team to lose to Harvard since the earliest decades of Sioux hockey. Once again, good job upperclassmen. Why is it that this team can only play 3 strong periods on the road? If I were coach, I'd be all over these guys. As a great coach once told me - When a team is weak, you need to support them. When a team is strong, you need to challenge them. When a team should be strong but is not, you need to make them strong any way you can. Tonight's effort, along with some other home games this season, deserve the latter. Strongly.

Sioux shut out at home to give them a sparkling 4-5 record at the Ralph this year. Good job, upperclassmen. Perhaps if you would play more than 1 period per game?

UND 9-0-5 at home in its non-conference record of late. Too bad their home record lately has been 0-5-0. I expected UND to be a nasty, relentless, chip-on-the-shoulder type of team tonight. So far, I've seen a little of that, but not enough to make up for the home duldrums. Come on Hak, start riding these kids!

All of UND's goals have been good goals. That is precisely where I want UND to improve. Score some ugly ones for a change! Grit and determination have just as much say in the WCHA as does talent. Go Sioux!

Thoughts after 2 pds: UND has a lot of talent. 14 to 4 shots on goal in the second. But BSU played hard. To me, that says there is just no comparing. Having said that, UND has a long way to go to learn how to better work the puck into heavy traffic. That is typical of freshmen laden teams. Hopefully, with a gritty attitude and a physical style of play, this team can acheive the Western Regionals ahead of their time. P.S. F!@*K the NCAA! Go Sioux.

Exactly. Against the Goofs, UND played their style of hockey. And Potulny & Irmen took it to us. Sad. UND needs to play Sioux hockey - physical defense, strong forecheck, relentlenss puck pursuit, talent to finish plays. That is the way it has been and the way it shall always be. Go Sioux!

BSU's coach is a very down-to-earth guy. He has no illusions that his team has as much talent as UND. That is why he coaches an aggresive, emotional style of hockey. I like playing BSU type teams. They keep UND honest in that we need to play with more emotion and play more physically.

While I like the "We'll be fine" attitude, I think 5 straight home losses with a roster this deep in talent is inexcusable, period. The team just tied the school record for dropping consecutive home games.

A pre-game question for all you G-Forkers: How was your deer hunting? My family bagged 5 deer in one day. They would have had six, but my uncle wanted to save his tag for "the big buck." Man, sometimes I miss that life.

TH mentioned that Spirko didn't even break a sweat scoring his three goals tonight. But Hak took offense to that, and talked about how hard he worked to beat guys into position and what good hockey sense he used to know when to go to the net. Hak also came to the defense of Finley, saying that he has made good strides and that he played a pretty good game, despite the mistake that cost MT's only goal. Personal note: It seems to me that Hak is getting more comfortable saying what he wants during interviews, even to the point where he sounded annoyed with TH last night.

Yes, Lammy had a bad night. But where was the fire and energy in the Sioux? Not until the last few minutes, when things got very chippy, did we see much life from UND in this period.

What a pathetic 3rd period. And that frigen Mannino wins again.
