They are only younger in terms of upper vs lower classmen. According to my "experience rating," this year's likely starters rate a 2.2, while last years starters came in at 2.1. In other words, they are still very young, but not as "green" as last year's boys, overall

And the defense. Other than that, Winona is fine.

I heard him speak at the Booster meeting in GF the day of the Western Regionals, before they played Michigan. He is very well spoken, very driven, with a good sense of Sioux hockey tradition. He will make a goood leader. And, the coaches say his work ethic has propelled him to become a much better player than they ever thought. Hopefully, he has the kind of year where he gets 25-35 points.

Unbeleivable game for UND! Wow - the offense really stepped it up and showed what they can do. Pay no attention to an idiot who visits our site to rile us up - it aint working, and that bozo's team is going down by 20+ points. After that, we'll never hear from the idiot again. Having said that - Lennon was as calm as ever in his postgame interview. He is a great coach. This year's team has the potential to be something special. I'm so glad the offense got it together after a slow start at CWU. Since then, they have been on a tear. Not only that, but the likes of Wolff & Brennan are very impressive. The defense has bounced back as usual. Go Sioux!

Some problems last year, but also better support. I remember early in the season, some of us paid for the package, but had no links to the games. That was a major FUBAR. However, once that was fixed, some actual support was available for other games. I certainly hope UND does not drop internet video altogether. In fact, they ought to make it free. Builds goodwill amongst the alumni, you know.

Anybody missing our so-called good offense? 6 points wouldn't get us very much farther, right now.

If I remember right, Phil's goal support was poor in both seasons he has played for UND. Of concern to me is that he may not be a great communicator to the defense, or may be lacking some intangible that helps the team play well in front of him. Anyone else get this feeling? I'm sure some of this boards readers have played with, known, or observed Phil closely. Perhaps some of your perspectives?

I know it has been a while, but hey, I'm busy these days. Some great memories: ~Touring the Ralph and seeing the Zamboni drop a huge load of slush into a deep trough after cleaning the ice. Seeing the TV crew prep the ESPN interview room. Touring the empty suites. Very cool. ~Watching Fabian speak at the Sioux Booster meeting, and hearing coach Hak promise "We're going to play our butts off for you tonight!" ~Meeting Mr. Buning in the Athletic Dept. Suite. ~Holy Cross scores, and the Ralph explodes. One of the greatest "we hate the Gophers" moments ever! ~UND wins the tournament. The fans are amazing. Some of the Holy Cross team are looking around the stands in amazement at the great, loud support for the Sioux. I think some of them were blown away by the atmosphere. I know I was. A perfect weekend of hockey. I'll have a hard time ever topping that one. Fight on Sioux.

Sometime in the next few days I will finalize this. By all means, please chipe in with your suggestions. My first priority is to meet as many die-hard SiouxSports.com fans as possible. Second priority - to create an atmosphere at the Ralph that feels like a close-knit group. So, here it is. I've got about $750 to spend on a promotion. Either give me a good idea, or I will find one myself. Go Sioux!

Come up with a good idea by tomorrow or I will call one of my favorite establishments in town and offer them a sizeable tab to host ticketholders for free drinks and appetizers prior to Friday's game. Go Sioux!

Okay...I'll check back tomorrow (Monday) to see if anyone has responded. Otherwise, I'll just arrange for my own party to be scheduled at one of GF's finest establishments (even if I have to do it from out of town). Come on Grand Forks, let's get it on!

Denver is a program I just can't stand. They have had nothing but success the last few seasons, but their support in the "high by a mile" city is pathetic. Those people don't deserve as good a team as has played there the last few seasons. And, as fate would put it, they will not. Meanwhile, the UND's of the world, while drawing 10K+ for every game, will endure to become the best-of-the-best. Go Sioux!

Okay, folks. I was there for the World Juniors - and was very disappointed that I got to meet very few new UND fans. That has to be remedied. For this upcoming series, I DEMAND that every die-hard UND fan reach out and co-ordinate some meetings with we ex-patriate types. After all, Grand Forks is too important a place for the Western Regionals to occur that I should spend the entire time with my family (heaven forbid!). Email me at "Kuhn. Parise gets his 4th shutout in the last 12 games for a .3333 shutout average going into the playoffs. We gotta love that! I thought Jordan bailed UND out of some key scrambling situations in this game. I love to see that he can handle 3 games in 3 days and play his best game in the last. P.S. Thoughts on the 1st: Oshie is a phenom. Wow, can that guy play. He just keeps getting better. Miller looked very creative out there too, especially for only having played a few games so far. Smaby has played a great series, and he is looking great tonight. Parise has mojo going for him. That's a very good sign.

About Dataflix - I had to click "watch" from the "My account" area, after choosing tonight's game. Then, it took me to the screen where the logo was available to click on the game.

A split isn't too bad against DU, except for the fact that UND had a lead in the 3rd. Hak's comments: "We did everything we could for 2 periods, then a call on the opposite side of the rink from the play turns everything around". TH: "I just think Jordy gave up more than he normally would." I agree. Overall, I thought DU took it to us tonight. The talent on this team doesn't mean jackola without playing together as a team. They still have to work on that.

Simple fact is....Sioux have failed to give fans the satisfaction of avenging the atrocities of DU vs UND the last few years. Those setbacks cannot be understated. DU's goalie stole the Championship from us in '04 by knocking us out of the Frozen Four. DU's goalie stole the show in the Frozen Four last year. The Sioux have a long way to go to avenge that. A LONG WAY! GOD, I WANT TO SEE DU PAY. TH says the officiating was horrible this weekend. But he thinks it went both ways. DU, with the win, moves into 2nd place in the WCHA. Sioux are questionable for home ice in the playoffs. After going ahead in the 3rd, a very disappointing finish. A squandered chance.

So... now UND is tied for 5th, but in reality they are below SCSU because of the blown home series. Therefore, things either go extremely well for the Sioux next week, or they are on the road for the WCHA playoffs, and back on the bubble for the Regionals. Overall, not a horrible weekend, but not great, either.

Man...Hak pulls the goalie when we are 3 goals down? Why bother? Just when I thing this team is mature enough to contend for something, Jordy gives up 6 goals and the team folds under pressure. Not a good night.

Go MTU! That can only help us in the NCAA's. UND has come back to tie this game after getting into powerplay trouble in the first period. Very impressive. This team has improved much in the last few weeks. Go Sioux. Win the 3rd period.
