    Nick Fuher

Good Luck Nick... Thanks for all the great memories you've given us Sioux fans. The most memorable Nick Fuher goal was the blast from the point in OT against I believe was Denver in the playoffs...at the Ralph to go to the Final Five... I think it was the 2002-2003 season.
  2. Just in case Coach Hakstol or one of the players looks in, the "Dave's a mess" was obviously not a slam on Dave Hakstol. I just piped in on Notable Quotes and saw "Dave's a killer" and added a quote out of the movie Slap Shot without realizing the quotes were all about Sioux hockey.
  3. I really feel like I should apologize for my excitement...wait...are you a Gophers fan? I know you are a Gophers fan & a civil one at that...so to you I do apolgize. I've been a diehard Sioux hockey fan for 30 plus years...so the comparison with crowing like a SCSU fan was a tough shot. Still enjoying the win over the Gophers last Thursday...can't help it...I'll behave now.

    UND signs Toews

Not sure if it's true...heard the Canadian hockey higher ups were still working on him even after his verbal commitment...was told they may keep him off the World Juniors team if he played @ UND.

  8. Just to give everyone a heads up...if you remember Duey...he was banned from here a couple weeks ago...today would be his first day back if he so desires.
  9. I noticed that too, hopefully they'll leave it up all summer...if a guy's having a bad day he can just go to GLP.com for a pick me up.
  10. Thanks PCM-It was nice to have Jordan, Travis & Hak to give us a look into next year. The fantastic run at the end of this year was certainly a boost for next year.
  11. This kid is an absolute joke, all you have to do is look it his picture. We can all be thankful he doesn't live around here anymore. Maybe we should have Prpich & Greene go visit this dweeb.
  12. Things to look forward to next year 1)We have 2 very good goaltenders coming back 2)We now have players with a whole bunch of playoff experience 3)We have very good players coming in for next year 4)We now have a head coach with experience as well a coaching staff second to none 5)We have a team that left a little something on the plate, they've got to be hungry
  13. It's Don Lucia's fault, first Jeff Panzer now Zach Parise.
  14. This is a terrific site, I've kind of always looked in but haven't participated too much until lately. It's nice to have a place to see what's going on with my favorite sports team(including pro teams). Today's a great example of how important this site is to a lot of us Sioux fans, we just got beat 2 days ago in the National Championship game and for some reason we've got more positive talk than I've ever seen.
  15. I know we always base things on the ultimate prize and if we didn't set out for the ultimate prize there'd be no sense in putting the energy, time, money, ect. That being said I thought the Frozen Four was a great time, yes we didn't win it all but the effort this team put in was outstanding. I was standing amongst the Sioux faithful after the game and am proud to say was one of fans giving them a standing ovation. Right after the game, at a very difficult time for the players & coaches, you could see the appreciation from the fans helped a little. That and the fact that we did beat those damn Gophers on Thursday.
  16. The rivalry is probably the best in college hockey, I've personally had a hatred for the Gophers since Neal Broten scored that goal in the National Championship against us in 1979. I'm sure people out east might think differently, but IMO the rivalry with the Gophers is something that has grown through the years into the most intense rivalry in all of college hockey. I know after watching the Gophers beat Cornell in the Regional Final, the matchup between us & them was all I could think about for 11 days. Thank God we won that game, kind of eases the pain of the National Championship loss. As much as I hate the Gophers, I was cheering for Neal Broten in February 1980.
  17. I also ran into some Maine fans on Saturday, a couple were actually at the Sioux get together @ the Crowne Plaza. They were fully supporting the Sioux. Looks like the terrible thing that happened to Shawn Walsh a few years back has had a positive twist to putting Sioux fans & Black Bear fans together.
  18. Not exactly sure how it happened, just heard it was the size of a grapefruit, Mark Poolman said it was amazing how he played through. Sometimes Matt does some foolish things, but I'd sure like him around next year to intimidate some of the new Gophers coming in.
  19. I noticed Gopher fans and arrogant in the same sentence, I certainly can believe that.
  20. In talking with some people on Saturday it sounded like the future of the NHL has a lot to do with Matt's future. He played the last part of the season with an elbow that was very painful, it's nice to have a leader that plays through pain and seems to have the respect of his team. Hopefully will have Matt back for his senior year.
  21. I'm personally very happy with this teams season, obviously the outcome on Saturday night wasn't what I had hoped for but the experience the underclassmen got this year can only help the future of the team.
  22. Petey23 Tried to call ya, left a message with my cell #. Just booked my flight out of Fargo tomorrow morning @ 8:20am, get into Columbus @ 1:00 pm. Got a room @ the Crown Plaza and a prime ticket for the game. Fly back 10:30 am Sunday and get back to Fargo @ 3:00 pm. Not bad for a last minute put together. I'm pumped for #8-GO SIOUX.
  23. Supertrex-My posts last night may have been affected by a couple victory Tequila shots. My wife has given me the go ahead to go to Columbus, a couple of us are working on it today. We did have a great time watching the game last night @ Playmakers in Fargo, I'm sure it's nothing like being there though.
