  1. My personal most hated rivals: 1) Minnesota Gophers 2) Denver Pioneers 3) Wisconson Badgers The Gophers have been and always will be my most hated rival...the Pioneers have moved into second considering the huge games we've played against them in recent years...when I went to UND in the early 80's the rivalry with the Badgers was great but still not equal to the Gophers.
  2. The Fighting Sioux would have won 20 more...therefore giving us 27 Titles which is 1 more than the New York Yankees.
  3. Great find...I remember Kevin Maxwell well...82 points his freshman year...simply awesome.
  4. Mike, give me a call at the office or my cell.
  5. Got the Center Ice package last week on DirecTV. Was watching Boston Bruins-Toronto Maple Leafs game Monday night, the 3rd Period and OT was some of the most wide open hockey I've ever seen. Toronto ended up winning thanks to Mr. Eddie Belfour. Eddie ended up being 1st star of the game despite letting in 4 goals...if you would've seen the saves he made in the 3rd and OT you'd have to agree...Eddie deserved to be the 1st star.
  6. It's hard to believe with all the talented players that have went through UND that only Tony Hrkac in 1987 has won the Hobey Baker. Even Lucia would have had a tough time denying Tony the Hobey that season considering he scored 116 points. With some very talented players on this years team you would think there is a very good possibility that in the next 2-3 years that someone could win.
  7. Cornell must be looking great in practice.
  8. I really don't think polls mean that much this time of the season, but moving up shows that we're not the only ones noticing the progress of a good young team. I don't see a lot of cockiness in this group of very talented freshmen, they seem very focused on what they need to do to be successful.
  9. Sling Shot would work well or one of those guns they shoot tee-shirts out of...instead of a tee-shirt throw a gopher in there.
  10. How can't people realize that this is a prideful name. Last night I took my 3 year old son skating in Fargo... he had his "I love the Sioux this much" sweatshirt on... I had my Sioux pullover on. There was maybe 20 people between the kids & parents there, of that there was 9 people with Sioux apparrel on. You could just tell that everyone there was full of pride for the Fighting Sioux. America better wakeup pretty soon or the PC crowd will take over everything it can get its hands on.
  11. I totally agree...Scott is a reader at our church...I know it's probably not the right thing to be thinking about at church, but when Scott speaks you can't help but think about Sioux hockey. It will be very hard to replace him as the voice of Sioux hockey.
  12. I didn't mean to offend you DaveK... it looks like we're on the same page as far as the logo issue. I have very good friends that are liberal and I consider myself liberal on some issues(not a lot though). I just think that people like GK, Jesse Jackson and others like them are considered extreme leftists...it's just a fact. Without a doubt there are many Democrats on this board that add a tremendous amount of knowledge concerning the issue at hand...this is an issue that actually brings a lot of people from both sides together...so if I've offended anyone on the left or right I apoligize. Now lets get back to keeping the FIGHTING SIOUX the FIGHTING SIOUX.
  13. I agree with almost everything you're saying...what a pain in the ass GK is. He is obviously an extreme leftist that has nothing good to say about UND. The only thing I disagree with is that we have to be concerned with someone like this. I think the answers from PCM, HockeyMom and others have been outstanding pertaining to the questions from GK. If this was a debate I think we all know who would be in the lead.
  14. I think it's great that the Fighting Sioux have outstanding programs in both football & hockey. Hockey without a doubt is the more popular sport, but football has made great strides the past 10 years. Being a Sioux fan is kind of like having your cake as well as your ice cream. Keep up the great work. As far as Sioux hockey being really that good...I'd say we have one of the top 3 programs in the country. The football team has had great success the past few years, but to say it's one of the top 3 programs in the country would be way off base. Anyway you look at I'm damn proud to be a FIGHTING SIOUX fan in both hockey & football.
  15. I agree, thank you very much PCM for keeping us updated on what's going on around the country...good stuff.
  16. As of Aug 11 2005, 01:36 PM he can't leave Grand Forks.
  17. Edmonton Sun "I'm registered for classes and I've been working out at UND all year. Right now I'm planning on being there," said Greene. God I hope so...we need you this year Matt. Even if he does decide to go to Edmonton, you really have to appreciate his love for the Fighting Sioux.
  18. What year did you guys graduate? 1979
  19. Another ex-Spoiler that played for the Sioux was Lee Brodeur. I hope Supertrex doesn't mind me fielding the question on whether or not he was a Spoiler. Supertrex played hockey until he hit it big as lead singer of the rock group Silver Swan...I believe it was his freshman or sophomore year in high school... therefore he had to put hockey on the backburner. He probably would have been bigger than Freddie Mercury of Queen, but decided to go to UND for an education instead.

The people have spoken, I thought the vote this year would be a little closer than 71% to 29%. Obviously the Renaissance Center was a little more than the city wanted or needed. I hope this doesn't detere the people that put a lot of work into these type of projects, I believe they are just trying to make Fargo a better city. As far as Divison 1 or USHL hockey in Fargo...the people have spoken.
